Taylor
We are continuing to pray for you and your family in this difficult time! I hope time doesn't last long enough for me to have to say goodbye to my parents. They are getting up in years, however, and the thought does occure to me now and then. So I can only imagine the pain you are going through, but you are thought of often. darlene
Dad's funeral was on Sunday and I returned Monday evening. It was a good funeral - if you can call a funeral good. There were about 300 people there with about 60 being relatives and the rest friends. It was quite a long funeral with a long eulogy and PowerPoint of Dad's life; both very interesting. The pastor had a very good presentation. The graveside service was very short because it was c o l d. Following the graveside there was a very nice meal served by the church ladies. All in all a good tribute to Dad. My 93 year-old mother, of course, did struggle. Hopefully she will remain at the assisted-living home where she is currently. She needs to be in a place that is familiar to her. My sister and brother and their families live close by so she will be in good hands. Once again thanks for the flowers, all your prayers and expressions of sympathy. It was/is really appreciated.
LifeHiscost
The ones for whom we cannot be sure where their eternal destiny lies, we can hurt immensly. However even they, when we yield them over to our Lord Jesus, we can be sure mercy will attend their final resting place. [:"red"] "The righteous pass away; the godly often die before their time....No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For the godly who die will rest in peace." Toni
I'm so very sorry for your loss . Much like Chrys, I lost my father in 2001. Even though we were separated for much of our lives, I still ache to see him again. I pray for peace and assurance from our Heavenly Father for you during this time. darlene
Thanks for you kind words, LifeHisCost and Toni. My brother emailed last night and we now have a CD and DVD of my father's funeral. He also said that my mother is doing surprisingly well and will remain where she and Dad stayed and does not have to move. Now that's good news!
