Outta Here Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 What are all the available means for communication within the scope of this website? As far as I can gather, there are: posts to public forums (such as what I am doing now) private messages (communication between one or more others in a private setting using the "letter" icon at the top of the page) chat room (one or more people can join in a "real time" conversation) and "tagging" (using the @ symbol to direct a comment in a thread to a particular person) I am aware that there are fields to provide links to other methods in the profile page section (AIM, messenger, e-mail, etc.) but these are "outside" the scope of Club Adventist. Are there other available means for communication "within" the scope of Club Adventist of which I am unaware? Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 4, 2016 Moderators Posted September 4, 2016 Upon the request of a member, a private forum can be set up that is open only to people approved to enter it. E.G. You could ask for a forum be set up that was restricted to people who owned Hybrid automobiles. If that was approved, it could be set up in a manner that the forum was not viewable by the public and it was only open to people that you had approved. In such a case it would be up to you as to how you would let people who owned hybrid cars know about the forum and request the abilitiy to enter it. Outta Here 1 Quote Gregory
Outta Here Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 Good to know! I can't think of anything I'd like to open a special forum for, but it's good to know that I could if I needed. Thanks, Gregory! Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 5, 2016 Moderators Posted September 5, 2016 San would need to give his permission and set in place the system that would allow it. Outta Here 1 Quote Gregory
Outta Here Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 I'm going to add another bullet to that list in the OP. posts to a person's status feed (this can be seen on a person's profile page, also on the home page of the forum in a box to the right). Quote
