SDA Family at Center of Litigation

A SDA family in Texas is at the center of a lawsuit that alleges that  the deportation policy of the administration violates their religious beliefs.  I consider this case to be both interesting and novel--that is not a positive statement.  For detail on this specific case see:

Never had or heard of someone pitching a tents in my backyard or an other persons.

We do have homeless using public property. Sometimes people do so in our National Parks.

Pitching a tent in someone's backyard has no relationship to this discussion, unless that someone is renting out space to pitch a tent to the public at large.

On what do you support the family and think that they are correct?

Do you think that the person should not be deported?  That is one issue that is valid and needs discussion, litigation or whatever.

Or, do you support the family in litigating on the basis that their religious rights have been violated?  If this is your position, you are on very weak legal ground.

Actually Gregory you just got the point. I am supporting the family because their religious right is being violated but I am also saying that the fact is the husband was an illegal immigrant and if the law says he must be deported then I think the husband broke the law first even before his religious beliefs are being violated.

If your point is that their religious rights are being violated, then you may not understand U.S. Constitutional law.  They will likely lose on this point.

There are other points of law on which they may have the  potential to win.  I, personally hope that they do win.  But, I predict that it will not be on the basis of their religious rights.
