Beryl
I am asking for your prayers regarding a 37 year old mother of 6 whom I have known for quite a time. She has needed a life-saving operation which could not be performed in Australia. Arrangements were made for her to be sent to USA for the operation, and the amount of money required for this was raised. She has had the operation, which was successful, and given the hope of a full recovery. However, I have struck trouble. The arrangements for airfare, accommodation on the way, hospitalisation, surgery, etc. were all part of a "package deal", and I had raised the amount required. But then I found that we had not been given the full information. After her major operation she was kept in hospital only 5 days, then transferred to the attached "hostel" where nursing care was still provided -- only this had to be paid for at $A400 per day! And that has taken the rest of the money, and a bit more. Her surgeon has OKd her return to Australia, (in fact he wants her to commence this Friday) provided she travels business class, makes about 15 stops on the way, which would be at least 1 night in a hotel at each stop. She cannot move on until the local hospital gives her the OK. Then, when she returns she is going to need complete rest during her recovery period. That is OK. We can cope with that, and I have had the offer from a nurse specialist to take over her wound management, and provide any other help that is needed until complete recovery. Our problem is that the money sources seemed to have dried up. The contacts I had previously made have given all they can afford, and I just don't know where to try next. Every avenue I try seems to be closed, and yet it is cheaper to bring her home than to leave her there (and I would still need to get the money from somewhere) -- added to which she is beginning to get homesick for her children. Please pray that God will continue to lead in this case as He has all along, and that someone, somewhere will be able to lead me to where the money would be available. Her faith that God will provide is still strong, but she is finding the waiting such a strain. Thank you, Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.

Nicodema
Why don't we coordinate efforts and have a drive to collect funds for this needy mama right here on Adventist Forum??? Maybe Gail or someone could talk to Stan about gathering in all the donations and then sending a cheque or wire transfer to Beryl? Just an idea ... p.s. Beryl check yer PMs!
