Stan Posted October 15, 2017 Share Posted October 15, 2017 BROOKLYN – Funeral arrangements have been made for Waldiman Thompson, the 91-year-old man who died after a home invasion in Brooklyn last week. A wake will be held at the Hanson Place Seventh-day Adventist Church where he worshiped for more than 30 years starting Thursday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. The funeral will be held at the church Friday at 10 a.m. Thompson was died after police say robbers made their way into his house and forced him and his 100-year-old wife, Ethline, into the bedroom where the robbers tied them up and put sheets over their heads. Ethline was able to break free and call the police. Police are still searching for the robbers involved in the robbery. Waldiman Thompson will be honored at the Hanson Place Seventh Day Adventist Church at 88 Hanson Place in Fort Greene with a viewing on Thursday and a funeral on Friday at 10 a.m., friends announced on Facebook. Thompson died after he and his wife — 100-year-old Ethlin Thompson — were tied up in their Decatur Street home in Bed-Stuy on Thursday, police and officials said. Thompson’s wife escaped from her ties and alerted police, who found Thompson lying unconscious on the floor, said police officials.Thompson was rushed to Interfaith Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, police said. Borough President Eric Adams has offered a $1,000 reward to anyone who can provide information about the four suspects who broke into the home, he said in a statement. “I am also making a call out to our community, particularly my fellow black men, to step in with the funds necessary to pay for Waldiman’s funeral,” Adams added. Police said no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
