8thdaypriest Posted June 23, 2018 Share Posted June 23, 2018 I've had a lot of thoughts lately, stimulated by the news and the situation at the border. The issues are much, much larger than simply protecting a border. One side is focused on the NEED, and calls anyone withholding unlimited help, all sorts of bad names. The NEED is obvious!!! The other side is focused on LIMITED RESOURCES, and the fear of overwhelming the system. They talk about overwhelming the health system, and the school system, and the law enforcement system. They talk about an influx of 160 million poor and mostly uneducated immigrants, changing our nation and government permanently. Are the resources unlimited? Communism is a system of mandatory sharing. Now - sharing is good, but forced sharing removes the good. Such a system results in suppression of innovation and work. (Why work if you will get the same share without working?) It also results in suppression of any further voluntary giving. Why help folks if the "government" will supply their needs? Let the government help. Believers realize that God can supply unlimited resources. There is no fear in giving, because the LORD will restore what you have given - and more. The FEAR - presently - is that we live in a world separated from God, where resources are limited. Someday - in the kingdom, there will be no fear in giving. The problem has been the same, ever since Eve "wanted more" than what God had given. We humans always "want more". Even when we give - we hope God will notice and bless us with "more". It's hard to imagine a world where no one wants more. In this world, the NEED is stupendous!! There is NEVER ENOUGH to meet the world's NEED. Jesus said, "The poor you have with you always". That says the problem isn't going away - until He returns with His unlimited resources. So what to do in the meantime?? How much giving - is enough? Are we to give until we have nothing left? Are we to give until the "system collapses" ? And how much giving is actually beneficial? And then there are "the Russians", in there sowing division and discord, to hasten collapse of "the system", so they can expand their own system without opposition. Wow! So many issues! Actually, I don't think it's a sin to "want more". The sin comes in when one want's what God has forbidden, or plans to acquire the "more" by means which God has forbidden (like stealing), and when he neglects the giving which God has commanded. I like the idea that - in the kingdom - there will always be "more" - more to learn, more to explore, more to build. My husband once said he wants a billion dollars. "And what would you do with all that money," I asked. He proceeded to tell me all the wonderful things for other people, he would do with the money. Totally like him. I have given to people in the past who then turned and bit my fingers. I've given to others who used it well, and it was a blessing to see. We still keep giving, even though we know sometimes it won't be a blessing, either to giver or receiver. The Lord has mandated giving - so we do. After we have given, the Lord has left us very free to choose what we will do with what's left for us. Maybe I want to build a fence around my flowers to keep the deer from eating them. Most of the time when I do have money in my pocket I tend to get a premonition, I pretty much accept its from God, and give it to those that are in need. Its like picking up hitchhikers, I usually don't, but every once in a while something tells me, this person is OK!! I suppose we must react with compassion towards the illegals, even if our politicians and bureaucrats fail to protect us or stop the invasion. This invasion is part of the Destroy America agenda of the National Socialist Democratic Party of Globalists. No more borders, no more countries. In the next life Self will not exist, so the needs of others will be just as important as our own. It would be nice to have an organization worthy to send our tithes and offerings to here on Earth. In the Kingdom, YHVH provides the land, and we, as sharecroppers of a sort, contribute a percentage of the produce or flocks in order to provide for those unable to raise their own food due to their occupations.
