Jaroslav Pelikan was a Yale scholar who has written some 30 books in this area. For most of his life, he was a Lutheran. However, late in life converted to the Orthodox tradition, possibly after meeting Pope John Paul II. 8thdaypriest Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I've been a subscriber to "Christian History" magazine, for a long time. There are many, many references to books. The writers for that mag do not go into the arguments for doctrines, just the history of movements, and the life history of leaders of movements, and descriptions of the customs of various denominations and groups.
