whbae Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Jesus said whatever you ask under my name Father will give to you. Does anyone know this is how it is written in the original language? I am sure everyone knows that not all our prayers are answered even if we ask in Jesus name. The generic answer to why not by many theologian is ; we did not ask right thing for ourselves, God will give to you at an opportune time. I have been asking God to rid of my pain from shingles infection for three and half years. Isn't this a right kind of prayer request, or right time? Jesus meant more that what he said. Just like to know what the original text says. Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted February 4, 2019 Moderators Posted February 4, 2019 John 16:23 NKJV: “ . . . I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name He will give it to you.” NIV: “. . . I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” Greek with English translation: άμην λέγω ὺμὶv, ὰν τι αύτήσητε τὸν πατέρα truly I tell you whatsover you ask the Father δώσει ὺμιν έν τω όςόματί μον he will give you in the name of me. NOTE: I am learning to type with Greek characters and my accent and breathing marks are not 100% correct in the above Greek. Quote Gregory

If you have had this for several years and have not consulted a medical professional for treatment; you may be missing out on the relief you are seeking? Over in the "Shingles Infection" thread, whbae did note the extensive round of all the therapies and professionals he had seen. It seems that all available therapies have been exhausted and was looking for something that he had missed. JoeMo Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Sometimes, I think God lets us keep our afflictions to give us an opportunity for others to see how we praise Him and be joyful (not the same as happy) in spite of our trials. I look at paraplegics and quads who are permanently confined to wheelchairs. Although I have seen a couple of them get up and walk at healing services, probably over 99% don't. Nonetheless, some are champions for the Lord regardless of their disabilities. Take Joni Eareckson Tada for example: https://www.joniandfriends.org/joni-eareckson-tada-receives-new-cancer-diagnosis/ May the God who heals take away your pain and give you back your full life, whbae. In Jesus' name. phkrause 1 Quote
whbae Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 I guess I did not make clear myself about what I have done along with my prayer regarding my pain. I have seen 3 specialists, two chiropractors, one acupuncturist. I have taken Lyrica, Gabapentin, vicodin, Ibuprefen, mega vitamins, tens unit treatment, four steroid shots, Qutensa patch, CBD oil, Lidocain 5% patch, hot and cold application. Did I miss anything?
