Nah, 'fraid not: I see value in both points of view, but the Republicans in America, the Conservatives in Canada and the Liberals in Australia all seem to me to be about exploiting the very people the Bible strictly enjoins us to protect, so...

The person below me plays a musical instrument, but probably not electric guitar.

Hehe - in terms of temperature or style? Well, it's 31 C here today, so the Canadians are all sweltering, but no, I'm basking, and looking forward to moving somewhere warmer.

Using a bit of mathematical circuity, yes! I'm looking to buy a mini-van that gets 24 mpg. Currently, I have a car that gets 29 mpg.

At 29 mpg, and $3.00 per gallon, I'm paying 0.034 cents per mile per passenger. The mini-van will give 24 mps, but at the same rate of $3.00 per gallon, I'll pay only 0.018 cents per mile per passenger.

Assuming I have 3 passengers for which I am solely financially responsible, my dollars per mile in the mini-van will be cheaper at 0.053 than in the car (a Civic!) at 0.103

In fact, it's a 48.5% savings if I purchase the mini-van with a higher mpg rating.

Nope, monolingual Aussie. I can fake Pidgin fairly well - even preached in it once - but it's been a while. I can generally figure out what a French sentence means, at least in broad outline... but in terms of talking to people, just English... and perhaps academic.

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
