Fritos and Doritos are not the same thing, as I'm sure you know. Fritos are/were ~orange. Doritos are more of a straw color. I doubt that one could make Fritos from leftover tortillas; however, Doritos can most certainly be made from left over tortillas. Doritos are also known as chips. Doritos is a brand name.  [Corn] Chips is the generic term. They can be ordered in most Mexican restaurants  I welcome clarification of your post.
