Crowing first at dawn is a privilege granted to the highest-ranking rooster.

I thought that one was pretty interesting. Didn’t realize there was a pecking order.

Cork flooring and wine corks are created using the bark of the Cork Oak tree. The bark is carefully stripped away without damaging the tree and then regenerates over 7 to 9 years before it can be harvested, making cork a renewable and sustainable resource.

Douglas Adams, the author of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," has stated that he randomly chose the number 42 as 'the answer to life, the universe, and everything'. His choice was not based on a complex theory, but rather he simply found it to be a humorous number.

Blockbuster's main revenue stream came from late charges. The company's profits depended on penalizing customers who kept movies past their rental period, and they went bankrupt within 10 years of eliminating them.

And if you go to blockbuster.com , it’s alive! I wonder what they have planned!

A person cannot taste food unless it is mixed with saliva. For example, if a strong-tasting substance like salt is placed on a dry tongue, the taste buds will not be able to taste it. As soon as a drop of saliva is added and the salt is dissolved, however, a definite taste sensation results. This is true for all foods.

The first automobile race ever seen in the United States was held in Chicago in 1895. The track ran from Chicago to Evanston, Illinois. The winner was J. Frank Duryea, whose average speed was 71/2 miles per hour.

He drove 52.4 miles in 10 hours and 23 minutes. LOL. Here’s a link with a pic.

One of the greatest misconceptions of the 4th of July lies in the name and date. It is widely believed that America declared their independence from Britain on July 4, 1776. However, the official vote actually took place two days before and the “Declaration” was published in papers on July 4.
