Members phkrause
? ? BlessedMan 1 Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
BlessedMan
Here is the very best possible response to Donald Trump's urging the Churches to open "right away, this weekend." From the Bishop-elect of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Missouri, Deon K. Johnson: "The work of the church is essential. The work of caring for the lonely, the marginalized, and the oppressed is essential. The work of speaking truth to power and seeking justice is essential. The work of being a loving, liberating, and life giving presence in the world is essential. The work of welcoming the stranger, the refugee and the undocumented is essential. The work of reconciliation and healing and caring is essential. The church does not need to “open” because the church never “closed”. We who make up the Body of Christ, the church, love God and our neighbors and ourselves so much that we will stay away from our buildings until it is safe. We are the church." phkrause 1 Quote (2 Cor 1:3-4) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Ellen
Now that our church is starting to get "back to normal" reading the above brings me to observe. Zoom as kept many of us in close contact. However, when I am at church now there are more people that I don't know than the old familiar ones. Some have moved their membership here some are visitors. I have been a member here starting in 1968 with a few absent years. It is evident to me that families have been able to leave the large cities. God is drawing His people in and we have to include them and welcoming their families and ideas. phkrause
