Morwenna
Interesting. I had no idea NEAT was related to Loma foods. Thanks for sharing. Rahab
GHansen
Most of the WFPB doctors of the modern plant based easting regime are opposed to flesh food substitutes. Some are also against eating nuts. Oil is definitely verboten. The issue with nuts and oil has to do with 2 factors, caloric density and the impact on the blood vessels, particularly the lining thereof. Meat analogs are considered a processed food. There is essentially no transition time allowed with these new doctors. You must go from a standard American diet to an extreme vegan type diet. In the case of seriously ill people who are trying to reverse life style illness, that's understandable. For the average person who simply wants to avoid lifestyle illnesses such as obesity, CV disease, diabetes, I doubt that such a radical switch is required. Also significant that Loma Linda is considered a blue zone, the only one in America. Many of the people there were raised on meat substitutes. Rahab
I agree. for some people this helps them to transition from SAD and then move on to a healthier lifestyle one bite at a time. ?
