Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 8, 2021 Moderators Posted December 8, 2021 December 7, 2021 Dear Conference Family, I'm writing today to call you to prayer for an urgent need we have at this very moment. A tragic situation has been developing over the last day or so for one of our conference's elementary school teachers who lives in Bloomfield and teaches at Discover Christian School in Farmington. Shondalyn Essig did not show up for school on Monday morning and has not been seen since. On Tuesday morning, the Bloomfield, New Mexico police department has issued a missing person alert. The alert was released shortly before noon on social media, and was shared hundreds of times on Facebook by Tuesday afternoon. Diane Harris and Paul Negrete, RMC director and associate director of education, will arrive in Farmington, New Mexico, late Tuesday night to support the students, teachers, and the school’s faculty. Doug Inglish, vice president of administration, along with his wife Susan, and Jana and I will be making our way there tomorrow to lend our support as well. The Pinon Hills Adventist Church is working with the authorities to help locate Shondalyn and is planning to hold a prayer vigil Tuesday night. Please make this a serious and urgent matter of prayer! I believe there's tremendous power in prayer, especially when God's people urgently seek Him together. And let us all hope for Shondalyn's safe and quick return. We will update you as more details emerge. Because of Him, Mic Thurber, president phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
