We pray for you, and for a speedy recovery.

One of our church members came home yesterday after a stroke, and two months of recovery in hospital and frail-care. She is talking and walking slowly again. We praise the Lord for grace and the recovery.

Blessings and courage and strength.

Gail,

We don't understand why things occur the way they do.... now. I not only pray for you and your husband, for immediate strength and healing, but for patience, endurance and faith, as the big picture slowly unfolds.

May God keep you both propped-up though the support of family, satff and friends.

Les

Gail,

I have just recieved the e-mail about your husband. I am so sorry to hear about his stroke. I will add you to my prayer list and to our church prayer chain. God is Great and he can do great things if we trust and believe that he can. He has blessed me many times over. I to have felt Satan's anger this summer. But hold fast in the power of God and he will bring you through any trial. God Bless and keep you all.

Dear Gail,

I know that, but for the grace of God, there go I. That may sound trite, but I would like you to think of the journey of Joseph, the one just one position under pharoah, when all his troubles were behind him he could say, "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good".

And there is also the reality that God is sovereign. No harm is beyond His ability to use it for our good. I know you are already aware of that, but it sometimes is good to roll those promises over in your mind, just to remind God of His promises for us.(like He needs it) Then watch for the way He chooses to handle it.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NASB

Update!

Can we all Praise the Lord for His goodness to men?

I brought Russ home from the hospital yesterday. The neurologist told him that the CT scan showed that he has a history of several older strokes that went undetected until now. He got some exercises to do and a couple weeks vacation from work.

Every day there is much improvement! Today I took him out for a walk just to determine what happens. He has to concentrate on exactly what he is doing or else his right side will either drag or trip on things. He is getting better at walking backwards and his balance is very much improved. I am so encouraged!

Re: his hand: I saw that he had written in his day planner, and that is something he couldn't do yesterday. When he lifts this arm it is not firm but floppy.

There is a slight droop in his face around the lip and jaw area. He has to be careful for choking when he eats because his tongue was affected. His tongue feels like there is a hair on it, bothering it, only there is no hair.

But he is making an amazing comeback! I would like everyone to be encouraged that your prayers have been answered so early!

Thank you all!!!

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Hey there, Gail and Russ.

Hang in there!!! Strokes are no fun. Very scary. Do you know the cause of the stroke (clot or hemorrhage?) I imagine since it was not a severe stroke it was a clot. But, there is still the problem of the weakness and numbness. Russ is a strong dude emotionally and physically - he will recover as his brain re-wires itself with the physical therapy training. Both of you - patience and endurance will win this race. Russ, you have a great wife who stands by you!! Gail, you have a great hubby who needs all the support you can give. You two will face this together and conquer!!

Lots of love and hugs from Joy and Jerry in TN

Gail and Russ,

Something the rehab people gave my poppy after his mini stoke was this type of play dough like stuff. It came in different colors for the different weights. He used it in his bad hand for strengthening and mobility. You might ask about that because it work like a charm for him.

Praise the Lord for His blessings on both of you.
