Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 14, 2022 Moderators Share Posted October 14, 2022 Daylight Savings Time: On November 6, most people in the U.S. will turn their clocks back one hour. There is a growing move in the U.S. to make time standard throughout the U.S., with no changes twice a year as happens now. Members phkrause
I thought that was already voted on and they decided to keep it at DST forever?? I guess not! I prefer EST and not DST!! Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 28, 2022 Author Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2022 My understanding, which could be wrong, is that some States have voted one way or the other, subject to it passing nationally, but the required number of states have not uniformly voted. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Members phkrause
Ugh, time to "fall back" Illustration: Aïda Amer/Axios Daylight saving time ends Sunday. Although nobody seems to like the annual cycle of "springing forward" and "falling back," there's no consensus on a better way. In one corner: Several GOP lawmakers, including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), want to make daylight saving time — the one with the later sunrise and sunset — permanent. Congress actually did that in the 1970s — but then changed it back, Axios' Kelly Tyko reports. In the other corner: Some scientists want to make daylight standard time — the one with the earlier sunrises and sunsets — permanent. They say it's better aligned with our circadian rhythms, Axios' Carly Mallenbaum writes. Keep reading. Members phkrause
Editorial: America should ‘fall back’ for the last time Some people objected to tampering with “God’s time.” But a religious perspective isn’t necessary to see that daylight saving time is out of step with the natural rhythm of life. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2023/11/06/fall-back-for-the-last-time/? phkrause 1 Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. Members phkrause
Daylight saving time 2024: Here’s when clocks ‘spring forward’ Most places in the U.S. – omitting Hawaii and parts of Arizona – will move to daylight saving time on Sunday, March 10 at 2 a.m. That’s when we will “spring forward,” and move our clocks ahead one hour, shifting more daylight hours into the afternoon and evening. DST will be the rule until we “fall back” and set the clocks back an hour on Nov 3. https://www.al.com/news/2024/01/daylight-saving-time-2024-heres-when-clocks-spring-forward.html? ps:I wish they would just end this!! Members phkrause
But first, why daylight saving time isn’t so simple for the Navajo Nation. UP FIRST Melissa Blackhair speaks of daylight savings time in her home in Tuba City, Ariz. (AP Photo/Matt York) As the US springs forward to daylight saving, it's a time of confusion for Navajo and Hopi tribes As most of America moves forward into daylight saving time, those who live on the Arizona portion of the Navajo Nation endure mind-bending calculations every March through November. The largest Native American reservation in the U.S., the Navajo Nation reset their clocks for one hour later despite being situated between two territories that remain on standard time: the rest of Arizona and the neighboring Hopi reservation.
