Kennedy Jr. emerging as the center of a contentious congressional hearing over free speech — after being accused of racism and antisemitism for claiming COVID-19 "attacks certain races disproportionately." Why it matters: The corporate-friendly centrism embraced by No Labels gets the lion's share of attention, as it tries to recruit a moderate politician such as Manchin into the presidential race. But RFK Jr.'s celebrity and conspiratorial nature overlap with the interests and views of many disaffected independent voters these days. Reality check: Kennedy is raising big money — much of it from right-wing donors — in his long-shot Democratic presidential campaign against Biden. Kennedy raised $6.3 million in the second quarter, a larger sum than most of the Republican presidential candidates running.
