stinsonmarri
Simone Biles today showed how a person who suffered from being sexually abused can make a comeback. When people like Vance say cruel things about women and Trump, who always have been racist. But, I do feel he is afraid of black women. He has a lot of sin problems, and more and more, it shows how evil he is! But, Simone today did a brave and respectful thing. She showed what her black job is. Many will say, oh, it is the Sabbath. But, the Sabbath is to show YAHWEH'S PLEASURE! Simone was a crush young lady, and YAHWEH helped to get her mind back, and HE blessed her! The lesson is that YAHWEH, THE SON, is in control. HE does THE WILL of HIS FATHER. When HE returns, John sees HIM returning with A NEW NAME! So, many people have suffered from mental health including me. My father and I were very close; at age four, he took me with him to relocate all of us to New Haven. My mother and the rest of the family came up later. It was my mother carrying me when she learned about the Sabbath! She asked her Minister, and he claimed it was only for the Jews. My mother refused to accept that because she read that ELOHIYM Created and blessed everything for everyone, including the 7th day Sabbath. She came from the strictist Baptist, the Missionary Baptist. She did not curse, drink, smoke, or lie! We had worship every evening, so she began to invite Bible workers from different faiths to study the Bible, and the Sabbath came up! That is when they made excuses, and my mother stopped them from coming. By accident at work, a coworker introduced her to the Adventists, and she drilled them, too. They finally told her and my father they kept the Sabbath, which is how I became an Adventist at five. It was a struggle for my mother to give up pork. Being black, we did not eat pig feet, chitterlings, or fatback! My mother loved Ham! She gave it up to follow the truth. My father was struggling. Finally, after my brother had written a letter from Oakwood Academy that he sent to my father. My father returned back to church that Sabbath. He took his stand and said he wanted to be baptized, but that evening, he fell in an accident and died. Losing him was hard on me, plus my sister was only three! My mother doted on her because of her age, and I was suffering from female problems at twelve, so my mind was lost for a long time. I had to fight my depression and mental illness, and so many things have happened to me in my life. Things happen when we give up and turn away from the truth! Why am I sharing this? Because YAHWEH is keeping me! I was so bitter and angry and wanted to fight back when people insulted me. I am glad that I needed to have a break from the forum! Being gone and taking care of my mother and my second father was not easy. Then I became ill. I have also been going through a lot, even now! But I have learned to trust in YAHSHUA! I have changed! HalluYAH! I am not the same. I hope you can tell! Politics and Religion have always been since Nimrod, and I am saddened because the pioneers went through a lot and, yes, made errors and misunderstood some of the truth. Other truths, it was not time for them to understand! Throughout the ages, YAHWEH had sent prophets and, in the last days, messengers to lead us back to truth, and that is why politics and religion are so divisive! Those who claim to know Him are not showing it! All denominations make the same claim: they are the chosen and do not search the Scriptures but take the word of their leaders. When I was young coming up, we would take our Bibles. Not today, and you wonder why the young people are leaving. What do we have to offer them? I prayed just before Biden decided to pass the torch to his Vice President, and I have not seen anything like this. YAHWEH answered my prayers. She is not going after the horror and racial things put out about her. I saw this young lady grow up under Biden. We have to stand up against sin, and it breaks my heart when I see us, who should know and be prepared, fall for Satan's deception. We will see what YAHWEH will do because it is about HIS Commandments and The Testimony of YAHSHUA that will rise and be heard. If not, the rocks will cry out! Who, I say, is on YAHWEH'S SIDE, Go HE Says to us who want to be sealed. Go and pray, stand up for truth, and preach the message of HIS Truth to a dying world! Happy Sabbath, may all be blessed, and you to Bonnie; I am praying for you! phkrause

Members phkrause
Key Harris adviser Vice President Kamala Harris' brother-in-law and former U.S. associate attorney general Tony West has become a powerful adviser in her new campaign, as Harris asserts control over an organization built to elect a different candidate. Why it matters: With less than 100 days to go, Harris is delicately retooling the presidential campaign with people she trusts, Democrats familiar with the matter told Axios. But some Democratic advisers in close contact with the campaign worry West's prominent role could re-create the same family dynamics that at times caused unnecessary drama in her 2020 campaign. Driving the news: In the first weeks since Harris became the likely nominee, West has frequently been at her side and is a point person in communicating with the campaign's leadership. Among the biggest changes so far is the emergence of West in the informal, but influential, role of helping Harris take control of the campaign. He is married to Harris' sister, Maya, who is not expected to take an operational campaign role like she did in 2020 but will remain a close confidante. Zoom in: When Harris rallied the campaign staff in Wilmington, Delaware, last month, she gave a vote of confidence to the existing campaign team. Harris did not select many of the campaign's key operatives and strategists and is beginning to place her own advisers in important roles for the final campaign sprint. The bottom line: Many successful presidential candidates have had their family members serve as close advisers. Go deeper Shapiro's weekend Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is entering the weekend with extra buzz after canceling a fundraising swing in New York, as first reported by CNN. Why it matters: The Harris vetting team has met with at least six candidates, two sources told NBC News. They are Shapiro, Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Govs. Tim Walz (Minnesota), JB Pritzker (Illinois) and Andy Beshear (Kentucky). Zoom in: A campaign called "No Genocide Josh" to scuttle Shapiro as a VP prospect, largely over his support for Israel, is facing pushback from Jewish members of Congress across the political spectrum, Axios' Andrew Solender reports. "I think there is that sense that somehow we're not objective [on Israel] because we're Jewish, which is just not true or fair," Rep. Greg Landsman (D-Ohio) told Axios. Between the lines: A story in The Atlantic yesterday noted Kelly and Walz are not facing such campaigns despite having similarly pro-Israel politics. Several high-profile Jewish lawmakers, including Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.), have since called out what they say is an antisemitic double standard. New Dem firm A half-dozen former senior Biden administration officials are joining forces with Democratic Party veterans to launch a new one-stop communications and strategy advisory firm. Why it matters: Lafayette Advisors will aim to help Fortune 100 companies, as well as labor unions and progressive groups, with knowledge and expertise into how some of President Biden's signature spending bills are designed to be implemented. Driving the news: Partners will include Ryan Berni, who served on the infrastructure team in the Biden White House, and Zach Butterworth, who led private sector engagement for Biden. Both worked closely with Mitch Landrieu, Biden's former transportation czar, and former Rep. Cedric Richmond, who was Biden's first director of public engagement. Richmond will be a senior adviser to the new firm. They will be joined by Bradley Beychok, a co-founder of American Bridge 21st Century, Ankit Desai, a lobbyist at ABI Associates, Michael Halle, a former senior adviser to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Leah Israel, who currently serves as the chief development officer for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Jennifer Palmieri, who served as communications director for President Obama and Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, will also join the group as a senior adviser. Go deeper Signs point to Shapiro No one who really knows is talking. But White House, campaign and party sources tell Axios all signs point to Vice President Harris picking Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, 51, as her running mate, Axios' Hans Nichols reports. Why it matters: Virtually all roads to 270 electoral votes run through Pennsylvania — one of the few things the Harris and Trump campaigns agree on. While Harris could surprise everyone, she seems to be headed toward a pick that a wide variety of sources — Republicans and Democrats — think is both shrewd and straightforward. It's a combination of math and logic: Pennsylvania is the biggest swing-state prize on the map. And Shapiro has a 61% approval rating. Shapiro's VP stock hit record highs yesterday after CNN reported he was canceling a series of weekend fundraisers in the Hamptons. Technically, a total of six potential running mates are still in play. But most of the conversation among senior Democrats has narrowed to Shapiro and Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona. Shapiro met with Harris' vetting team on Wednesday. Kelly did the same on Tuesday. For several days, Wall Street has been convinced Harris will pick a governor — in part because big-dollar donors were told to mail in their checks this week to avoid triggering a pay-to-play financial rule. Screenshot: MSNBC 🕶️ What we're watching: Face-to-face interviews between the sitting vice president and her potential replacement have yet to happen. But Harris plans to meet with the candidates as the last step in the super-condensed vetting process, Politico reports. What we're hearing: After an epic month, the Democratic Party is done with surprises. No more bombshells. The system is overloaded. Democrats believe that if Harris has telegraphed it's Shapiro, she should pick Shapiro. The Harris campaign has urged reporters not to read into Philadelphia being chosen to kick off a battleground tour on Tuesday (map above). But Shapiro will almost certainly be there — either as a running mate or runner-up. A Trump insider told Axios that many top Republicans also assume the pick will be Shapiro: "Pennsylvania's the whole ballgame." stinsonmarri 1 Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL
Members phkrause
🎤 NABJ chief says Trump stalled Moments before former President Trump took the stage at the National Association of Black Journalists annual convention in Chicago on Wednesday, the organization's president was called back to address an issue, Axios' Delano Massey, Sophia Cai and Russell Contreras write. Trump didn't want to be fact-checked live and was refusing to go on stage, NABJ president Ken Lemon told Axios. "[Trump's team] said: 'Well, can you not fact-check? He's not going to take the stage if you fact-check,'" Lemon said. The Q&A with the GOP presidential nominee was delayed before he eventually joined a panel of Black journalists. At the time, Trump blamed the delay on audio problems. Lemon told Axios: "There were audio problems, but they were resolved very quickly." Behind the scenes: The stalemate was so prolonged that NABJ leaders were prepared to explain to an audience of nearly 2,000 people why Trump wouldn't appear. Members phkrause
Campaign funds Donald Trump's campaign said Thursday that its operation raised nearly $139 million in July for the former president's election effort — and amassed $327 million in cash reserves for the roughly three-month sprint to the election. Trump's total represents a jump from June when his campaign and aligned committees reported bringing in nearly $112 million, but the July total was dwarfed by the fundraising haul of his newly minted Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris. The Harris campaign said it raked in a whopping $310 million in its July fundraising efforts, with more than $200 million raised in the first week of her candidacy. The Harris team has $377 million cash on hand, marking the latest sign of how the change at the top of the Democratic ticket has energized grassroots and high-dollar supporters. stinsonmarri 1 Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL

In 2024, it's Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania. Why it matters: Both presidential campaigns are treating Pennsylvania like the Ohios or Floridas of old — states where the winner is also the likely winner of the White House, Axios' Alex Thompson reports. 🔔 The Trump and Harris campaigns are set to spend more than twice as much on ads in Pennsylvania as in any of the six other swing states, according to an Axios analysis of AdImpact data. The focus on the Keystone State could help persuade Vice President Harris to pick Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running-mate. She'll appear with her pick in Philadelphia on Tuesday. 💰 By the numbers: The Harris and Trump forces are pouring $210.9 million and counting into TV, digital, and radio ads in Pennsylvania in the eight months between the end of the Republican primary and Election Day, according to past spending and future bookings. Zoom in: Michigan has the second most total expected spending at $98.6 million — $80.9 million for the Harris side and $17.7 million for Trump. After Pennsylvania, Trump's team has invested the most in Georgia, with $28.6 million set to be spent. 👀 What we're watching: When President Biden was at the top of the ticket, the Trump team saw Pennsylvania as a prime opportunity to break through the "Blue Wall" states in the Midwest, including Michigan and Wisconsin. Biden was increasingly dependent on those for victory as other swing states trended toward Trump. This past week, the Trump team for the first time began spending significant money on ads in North Carolina and Nevada, where polls previously showed comfortable leads. Members phkrause
🔎 Efforts to tank Shapiro Top Democrats have been telling us for several days that although she hasn't made it final, all signs point to Vice President Harris picking Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, 51, as her running-mate. But this weekend saw a flurry of efforts by rival Democratic camps to tank his chances. Why it matters: Harris is conducting in-person interviews with finalists in Washington this weekend, and will appear Tuesday in Philadelphia with her choice. Between the lines: The finalists are six white men. In addition to Shapiro, they include Govs. Tim Walz of Minnesota, Andy Beshear of Kentucky and J.B. Pritzker of Illinois, plus Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. The latest: One report has Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) favoring Walz, with a source familiar with her thinking telling The Hill she "is always especially fond of former House colleagues." Walz served six House terms. Advisers to Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) have privately relayed to Harris' team his worries that Shapiro, a long-running rival in Pennsylvania, is excessively focused on personal ambitions, Politico reports. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont said he wants Walz because he "understands the needs of working families." UAW President Shawn Fain, said he wants Beshear or Walz. Fain said the union doesn't favor Shapiro because of past support for school vouchers. 🗞️ A 31-year-old clip surfaced from Shapiro's college newspaper, in which he wrote that Palestinians were "too battle-minded" and "peace between Arabs and Israelis is virtually impossible and will never come." The opinion piece, "Peace not possible," ran in the Campus Times at the University of Rochester on Sept. 23, 1993. Shapiro told reporters Friday that the column doesn't represent his views today: "I was 20." Members phkrause
RFK Jr.'s missed moment RFK Jr. spoiled a rare opportunity last month when chaos over President Biden's candidacy paralyzed the party, Axios' Erin Doherty reports. Why it matters: Kennedy's poll numbers appear to be falling, his cash is dwindling and he's slowed his schedule. "By any metric, the campaign is certainly down momentum-wise than where it was at the beginning of the year," said Christopher Thrasher, a ballot access attorney and political consultant who has advised multiple independent and third party campaigns. Recent polling shows Kennedy's support in the single digits. He hit 15% and above in some polls earlier this year. Zoom in: "Historically, there's always a drop off from the polling numbers for an independent third party candidate to the vote totals," Thrasher told Axios. "What I think is a little bit of an anomaly in the case of the RFK Jr. campaign, is that drop seems to be happening well in advance of actual ballots being distributed, votes being taken." Members phkrause
Sun Belt surprise Photo illustration: Annelise Capossela/Axios. Photo: Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images Vice President Harris' early-days momentum has opened a new frontier in the presidential race, Axios' Sophia Cai writes. Why it matters: Georgia, Arizona and North Carolina — which had looked to be trending toward former President Trump — are suddenly crackling battlegrounds online, on the airwaves and on the ground. 🖼️ The big picture: Pennsylvania is still the most important state where both campaigns are going all-in. But the Harris campaign is fielding an army of enthused volunteers and piles of cash as it eyes a broader field of play. Zoom in: In the past two weeks, the Harris campaign has added 370,000 new volunteers — including 15,500 in Georgia, 21,000 in Arizona, and 10,500 in North Carolina — three states with diverse or changing electorate. 🍑 In Georgia, 100,000 votes are up for grabs, former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan (R) told Axios in an interview. "Kamala Harris puts all of those votes back in play," Duncan said. "The Number 1 excuse that I heard [about Biden] was: 'My gosh, he's just so old. I just can't imagine him governing for four years.' She takes that risk of physical and mental failure off the table." 🌵 In Arizona, the campaign has trotted out border mayors who have endorsed Harris, including Republican Mayor John Giles of Mesa. 🏀 In North Carolina, which has voted for a Democratic president just twice in the past 50 years, Harris has an uphill battle. But her momentum has forced the Trump campaign to spend on ads in North Carolina for the first time. Democrats are counting on turning out voters who have just moved to the state — and are highlighting extreme comments by GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson, and tying him to Trump. 🔮 NEW THIS MORNING: Tomorrow evening, Vice President Harris and her soon-to-be-announced running mate will launch a five-day, seven-city tour of battleground states, starting in Philadelphia. From there, the new ticket heads to Eau Claire, Wis.; Detroit; Durham, N.C.; Savannah, Ga.; Phoenix; and Las Vegas. A campaign preview says that besides rallies at venues ranging from arenas to college campuses, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the pair will meet with voters in smaller settings, including union halls, family-owned restaurants and campaign field offices. They'll be joined by union members, faith leaders, local officials and more. stinsonmarri 1 Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL

Members phkrause
Kamala Harris’ campaign launches “Republicans for Harris” Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign on Sunday launched “Republicans for Harris” as she looks to win over Republican voters put off by Donald Trump’s candidacy. The program will be a “campaign within a campaign,” according to Harris’ team, using well-known Republicans to activate their networks. Read more. Why this matters: The program will kick off with events this week in Arizona, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Republicans backing Harris will also appear at rallies with the vice president and her soon-to-be-named running mate this coming week, the campaign said. Harris’ team is trying to create “a permission structure” for GOP voters who would otherwise have a difficult time voting for Harris. The effort will rely heavily on Republican-to-Republican voter contact, with the belief that the best way to get a Republican to vote for Harris is to hear directly from another Republican making the same choice. Trump has done little to try to win over moderate Republican voters and on Saturday he criticized Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who rebuffed Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election in the battleground state. Members phkrause
Final countdown Not so fast, the Harris campaign is saying to reports that a decision's been made on a Democratic vice presidential nominee. Why it matters: Today's clues suggest Vice President Kamala Harris has narrowed her focus to Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. But the last month has repeatedly proved that surprises come from all directions, and the potential VP list is big. Barring a leak, expect to find out the VP nominee's name just like everyone else ... by seeing a carefully choreographed video pop up tomorrow morning on social media. The bottom line: The stock market plunge and the potential of an escalation between Israel and Iran have sharpened the stakes for Harris' decision. Members phkrause
Harris readies a Philadelphia rally to introduce her running mate Vice President Kamala Harris will introduce her new running mate at a rally Tuesday evening in Philadelphia, before spending the next five days touring critical battleground states. But with the event mere hours away, her choice remains a mystery. Read more. Key points: In recent days, she’s zeroed in on a trio of potential finalists: Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Harris’ campaign planned to make the announcement via video message before the rally, though the exact timing remained unclear, according to a person involved in the planning who spoke on the condition of anonymity. JD Vance, meanwhile, is aiming to detract from the debut of Harris’ pick. He planned to arrive in Philadelphia ahead of the Democratic ticket and offer his own speech at midday as counterprogramming. The senator then announced he’d shadow Harris and her running mate with his own events in Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina. Members phkrause
Harris stress test Vice President Harris' rally in Atlanta last week. Photo: Christian Monterrosa/Bloomberg via Getty Images The growing risk of twin calamities — recession and regional war in the Middle East — is suddenly looming over the U.S. election, Axios' Zachary Basu and Sophia Cai write. Neither life-altering event is inevitable. But each could imperil Vice President Harris' ascendant campaign at a critical moment. Why it matters: For the next 90 days, Republicans intend to treat Harris as the incumbent. That means saddling her with every crisis consuming the headlines, even when her role as vice president is murky or minimal. 🔎 Zoom in: Harris' unprecedented political honeymoon faced its first major test yesterday when the stock market suffered its worst losses since 2022. Republicans were eager to shift blame to the White House — eyeing a rare opportunity to seize a news cycle dominated by tightening polls and speculation about Harris' running mate. Top allies of former President Trump flooded social media with the phrase "Kamala Crash" and videos of Harris promoting President Biden's economic policies. "STOCK MARKETS CRASHING. I TOLD YOU SO!!! KAMALA DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE," Trump roared in one of at least eight Truth Social posts blaming Harris for the selloff. Reality check: The stock market has long been Trump's favorite measure of economic success. But presidents — let alone vice presidents — typically don't have much daily influence over the Dow. The S&P 500 is still up about 15% over the past year, and over 30% since Biden's inauguration. Several of the market's steepest drops ever took place during Trump's presidency, in the early days of the pandemic. This January, Trump tried to take credit for the market's record highs — claiming that investors were pricing in polls that projected he would defeat Biden in November. Via Truth Social 🔭 Between the lines: Even when the job market was at its strongest, polls suggested most Americans disapproved of Biden's handling of the economy. Early indications are that Harris hasn't inherited the full extent of Biden's economic baggage. That could change with a few weeks of recession alarms. Unlike the stock market, a full-scale war in the Middle East would have direct ramifications for Harris' day job as vice president — and could potentially yank her off the campaign trail. The bottom line: It's only August. Election Day is 91 days away — with countless twists along the way.
