Ulunruh
Just because a person sees dangers in the new mRNA vaccines does not mean they are "anti-vaxers". That is a rather dishonest generalization that we see all the time on main media. There are many doctors and scientists who question the mRNA, who are not against all real vaccines. How long will the powers that be, continue to hide all the negative results of that vaccine, and pretend it's all "misinformation? It's not just one or two chance co-incidences, the negative effects are many and alarmingly frequent. How many doctors who were well respected, high level physicians before covid, who had the courage to simple question the new, experimental mRNA vaccine, were vilified and stripped of their credentials? How many times are we told that vaccine is safe and effective -- it is neither! People with 4 jabs are still getting the disease, not just once but over and over. The vaccine does not prevent transmission. Yet the powers that be are still pushing this with legislative force and coercion and actively censoring all reports, studies and questions that bring forth evidence there are some very real problems. Why? For example: heart problems myocarditis hugely escalating, most noticeable in young apparently healthy men. Quote

Members phkrause
🤧 How to dodge a tripledemic Illustration: Eniola Odetunde/Axios Vaccines to stave off flu, a new COVID variant and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) could avert a tripledemic this fall, Axios' Sabrina Moreno writes. Why it matters: If the public is too crisis-fatigued to care, we could have another crisis on our hands. Context: Last year's convergence of seasonal influenza, RSV and COVID shook health systems still dealing with the effects of the pandemic. That was a major threat to immunocompromised people, flooded hospitals and forced cancellation of some elective procedures. 🥊 Reality check: Americans might be all too willing to shrug off the hydra-headed threat this year. 👂 What we're hearing: Experts remain torn over how the vaccines should be administered, and whether the benefits outweigh the risks. The bottom line: The flu and COVID shots worked well when paired last year. Experts are recommending that older adults who are immunocompromised should get all three shots. An annual flu shot is recommended for anyone 6 months and up. Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL

Members phkrause
COVID-19 hospitalizations in the US are on the rise again, but not like before Here we go again: COVID-19 hospital admissions have inched upward in the United States since early July in a small-scale echo of the three previous summers. https://apnews.com/article/covid-cases-hospitalizations-increasing-9a831de37210c53c1ee48a30ad2ee611? Why this matters: For the week ending July 29, COVID-19 hospital admissions were at 9,056, an increase of about 12% over the previous week. It’s likely that infections are rising too. But the data is scant, and while one version of omicron — EG.5 — is appearing more frequently, no particular variant of the virus is dominant. Federal authorities ended the public health emergency in May, so the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and many states no longer track the number of positive test results. The amount of the COVID-19 virus in sewage water has been rising since late June across the nation. In the coming weeks, health officials say they’ll keep a close eye on wastewater levels as people return from summer travel and students go back to school. Members phkrause
💉 Kindergarten vaccine exemption rate ticks up Data: CDC. Map: Kavya Beheraj/Axios The nationwide median rate of kindergartners with vaccine exemptions nearly doubled between the school years ending in 2012 and 2022, Axios' Alex Fitzpatrick and Kavya Beheraj report from CDC estimates. Why it matters: Skepticism about the COVID vaccine appears to be fueling broader vaccine resistance among a relatively small but growing number of parents — a trend that began before the pandemic. 🔎 Between the lines: 70% of Americans say healthy kids should be vaccinated as a requirement to attend public school — down from 82% in the pre-pandemic era, a Pew survey found. There's a significant partisan split: 85% of Democrats agree with such a requirement, compared to 57% of Republicans. Democratic support for vaccine requirements has held steady. Republican support has nosedived 22 points from 2019. Interactive version of this map, with state-by-state data.
