Members phkrause Posted August 27, 2023 Members Posted August 27, 2023 WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Adults in the U.S. who regularly say hello to multiple people in their neighborhood have higher wellbeing than those who greet fewer or no neighbors. Americans’ wellbeing score increases steadily by the number of neighbors greeted, from 51.5 among those saying hello to zero neighbors to 64.1 for those greeting six neighbors. No meaningful increase in wellbeing is seen for additional neighbors greeted beyond six. https://news.gallup.com/poll/509543/saying-hello-linked-higher-wellbeing-limits.aspx? Ellen Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 I can easily see how this would give one higher wellbeing. Being introverted and isolating and depressing. It just so happens I had eight of my neighbors on my back deck last Tuesday and possibly more next month. It is good for them as well as me. ` phkrause 1 Quote
