Members phkrause Posted February 15 Members Posted February 15 We are also deeply pained that another long-time member, Dean Davis, fell asleep in Jesus yesterday afternoon. Vera says that he left us peacefully and without pain. Dean was chair of the Theology department at AUC for years. Dean and Vera moved to Georgia a while ago, but still have many friends here, and Dean will be missed. May we remember Vera and Dean’s other loved ones in our prayers. (also from an email I received from AUC) Dean is someone I've known for over 50 yrs. I was sadden by this email!! Moderators Kevin H Posted February 18 Moderators Posted February 18 While I took first semester Greek from him, I am sad that I did not take any other Bible class from him (The one I could have taken I took from George Rice in his last year before Dr. Davis came, Dr. Rice was also outstanding, From other students and faculty, Dr. Davis also fit in very well as a team member with the style of teaching that AUC was known for in the mid to late 1970s and early 1980s ) I appreciated the sermons I've heard, and once a friend leant me a VCR of a seminar he gave on Galatians which was outstanding. (Sadly, I only listened and returned them, and did not take the notes that I wish I took.) I am so sad to hear of his passing. phkrause 1 Quote
