*  The London Daily Express reported in 1980 that British Army fur helmets needed regular trimming due to the fact that the bear pelts were so thick.  It suggested that bear hormones could be a cure for male baldness.

*  Sports Illustrated reported in 1985 that George Plimpton could throw a baseball at 168 miles per hour.

*  In 1698 it was reported that the Lions were going to be washed at the Tower of London.

*  In 1796 a sale of "Fool's Coats" was advertised in Middleton Connecticut.
