Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 16, 2024 Moderators Posted November 16, 2024 Addventism Today: The following article suggests that we can learn how Adventism today compares with that of it in the days of our founders and that learning is facilitated by looking at Adventist reactions to recent election issues. NOTE: it does not get into who should have received Adventist votes. It does not evaluate the candidates. https://atoday.org/what-progressive-adventists-can-learn-from-the-2024-presidential-election/ phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Gustave Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Since the day after the election, I've been watching Democrats discuss the findings coming out of the various postmortems / autopsies of the Democrat Party & the general consensus I'm seeing is Trans / woke ideology in the swing states cost the democrat party the election. In the second paragraph of the article James W. Walters (the author) stated; "The United States electorate on November 5 followed its visceral instincts and voted in Donald Trump". Mr. Walters may be highly educated but if he thinks that Elephants are pumpkins, he needs to be de-programmed, BADLY. Anyone thinking that Trump won the election because of the "visceral instincts" of the electorate is in very bad need of a red pill. The facts are that if a serial killer abducted and murdered 2 men along with 6 trans women and dumped their bodies into a mass grave & 100 years later the grave was discovered- SCIENCE would positively (with zero doubt) identify that the remains belonged to 8 MEN. I realize that this is bitter medicine to many Democrats but its the truth. The coastal population centers are generally very blue and Midwest areas are generally red. For either party to win the electoral college they must appeal to a majority of voters in the swing states and in this cycle enough Democrat Grandparents and Parents were worried their Grandchildren were in danger of being convinced at school they may have been born into the wrong body. Some may view this as visceral and an unfounded fear. Whatever it is I can assure anyone that it's not science denying. MAGA people are literally praying that the Democrat Party continues to double down on the logic expressed in that article as it will greatly aid in the furtherance of MAGA. I for one want a healthy Democrat Party as well as a healthy Republican and MAGA party. Most of live in a reality where we need good competition in the political parties to ensure that the work product they produce helps the common person. Clinching one's fist and shouting toward heaven that potatoes are bears or that trans women are women is a self-destruction protocol for the Democrat Party - they will either defecate this ideology out of their platform or fulfil their destiny thereby allowing another progressive party to come in and do it for them. bonnie1962 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 If this article does " not get into who should have received Adventist votes. "It does not evaluate the candidates" it would be interesting to see one that did. Perhaps if Harris had delivered powerful statements concerning the country she may have convinced those sitting on the fence and be the president elect today. Doesn't say much for the college educated if they were impressed by her powerful statements hammering on Trump instead of what she could/would do for the country. Can someone here, after listening to her listing Trumps sins articulate what she is going to do with the border, illegal immigration, the many thousands of children that no one knows where they are or who they are with, the economy just for starters. One thing that always comes to mind when a comparison between Biden and Trump is drawn. Somehow Trump managed to raise a pretty respectable family from all appearances. Bidens family is a mess, they were the ones that attended church every Sunday. Quote
