Joe Knapp Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Monte Sahlin, one of the foremost researchers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the North American Division (NAD) and a former pastor and church administrator, has passed away. He was 76 years old. Sahlin, who retired in 2014, served more than 40 years in denominational ministry, spending a significant portion of that time in the Columbia Union territory. Most recently he served as the director of research and special projects for the Ohio Conference. ----- I remember him as a pioneer in Adventist forums. He was in charge of the Adventist forum on CompuServe. Whoa, that was a long time ago. 25 years ago? phkrause and Kevin H 2 Quote
Joe Knapp Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 Upon reflection, I realized it was not Monte Sahlin, who was with CompuServe. It was Ray Dabrowski who started the CompuServe. Quote

It was a dial up at that time if I'm not mistaken?? Quote phkrause Read Isaiah 10:1-13
Joe Knapp Posted July 26 Author Posted July 26 Yes, it was a dial-up service. I love the sound of those tones. I had a very successful computer business at the time, using lots of modems. I could diagnose problems just by the sound of the tones. phkrause 1 Quote
