Stan Posted July 22, 2004 Share Posted July 22, 2004 July 22, 2004 Fire officials say fire at Gresham church is suspicious GRESHAM, ORE. - Gresham fire officials say an overnight church fire looks suspicious. This morning, Fire Marshal Gus Leon said there is no problem with the electrical wiring at the Seventh Day Adventist Church near Powell and Cleveland and fire officials could find no accidental cause. Leon says it appears suspicious because the blaze began in an exterior trash can near the rear of the church. The trash can had a lot of combustibles in it. The roof was heavily damaged and firefighters had to knock down the ceiling and installation to get in to fight the blaze.
