I find it rather interesting that people use a "thus saith the LORD", until they need to go to EGW for support. All that I have read on the thread is still the same by the Anti-WO group, God doesn't call women there fore they are 'deluded' when they claim such. There seems to be no recognition of 'ordination' as a modern concept. Adam was the first to blame a women for his troubles and it has continued since. I will admit that I do not understand humans attempts to limit God as to what He does or can do, rather astonishing and arrogant. Those against also seem to have other complaints about the church in many areas, so it makes me wonder just what kind of 'church' they really want. I don't think 'ordination' is the real issue. Equality of the female sex in all matters is the real issue and hanging point in the discussions. Men want to designate the role of women in life while straining for Biblical support. That should be seen as affront to God. Using 'thus saith the Lord' is hiding bush for pride and prejudice, is my take. The conversations go round and round in circles, lost in a labyrinth it seems by ones own choosing. I think it is very important to study the reasons for the '40' year wondering in the wilderness after leaving Egypt. Was it perhaps because of a lack of faith in God? Did they want it all done their way? Was that not a form of 'limiting' God to human forms of reasoning and desires? We are supposedly believing in a God unlike all others but yet we see Him as rather vengeful, keep that women down, she messed up my whole plan for the human race! Really? Can't go there. There's your version of the Three/Four Angels' Message, and there are ours. Should we discuss only one version? Censoring what others understand the message to be, may be what is killing it.1 point -

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Are you His disciple? We do not keep the commandments to be saved. We keep them because we love our Savior. Which reminds me…why do women wish to be ordained? To have equality? To have authority? To feel "empowered"? To do something they could not have done without being first ordained? To earn more money? . . . . . . . Or is it because they are following a "thus saith the LORD", and, out of selfless love for their Master, desire to obey Him in all things? If the latter, where is the command for them to be ordained?1 point -

I just now carefully reread Genesis 3 and noticed two things that I had not really focused on before. While finding no credible textual support for the eisegetical and twisted interpretation that Green has given it, I was more convinced that the interpretation as I have understood it is correct. The two aspects that I had not noticed before were who each point it is about that God is addressing and what exactly God curses and who he does not curse. God does not curse the man or the woman. God cursed the serpent. And God cursed the ground. The curse on the ground effects that which comes from the ground, Adam and vegetation or food, logically ties into the the sin he committed of eating what was forbidden. Now his food comes with much pain and toil and he is bound to the earth, in the end he returns to the ground from whence he was created. But God is speaking only to Adam at that point. Eve was not created from the ground, so this was not addressed to her. The curse on the serpent obviously adversely effects the snake, but it also ties the serpent to the ground, it also becomes earthbound and becomes a great source of fear for the woman that had been so beguiled by it at the tree. And refuting the notion that the God gave rulership over Eve to Adam, for that part God is only speaking to Eve. He does not say to Adam "You shall rule over your wife." He is speaking to Eve and says "Despite what your desire is, your husband will rule over you." It is more of a warning to her. Anyway, it was also quite interesting that after that I found this article that tracked my thinking on this - http://juniaproject.com/curse-genesis-3-a-lament/ .1 point -

Many remarks have been made to the effect that in their discourses our speakers have dwelt upon the law, and not upon Jesus. This statement is not strictly true, but is there not some reason for it? Have there not stood in the desk men who have not had a genuine experience in the things of God, men who have not received the righteousness of Christ? Many of our ministers have merely sermonized, presenting subjects in an argumentative way, and scarcely mentioning the saving power of the Redeemer. Their testimony was destitute of the saving blood of Christ. Their offering resembled the offering of Cain. He brought to the Lord the fruit of the ground, which in itself was acceptable in God's sight. Very good indeed was the fruit; but the virtue of the offering -- the blood of the slain lamb, representing the blood of Christ -- was lacking. So it is with Christless sermons. By them men are not pricked to the heart; they are not led to inquire, What must I do to be saved? {GW 156.1}1 point -

I think that Jesus is the root. "The root is holy" ( Rom 11:16). The trunk was Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The children of Jacob became the branches. Paul said, "branches were broken off because of unbelief". The 10 tribes who broke away from worship of Yahweh, and became worshipers of false gods - those would be branches "broken off". Jeremiah 11:16 "The LORD called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form." IF the Lord had replaced His chosen Israel with another people called "the church", then the TREE would not longer exist. It would have died because ALL it's branches would have been broken off. Romans Chapter Eleven clearly tells us that the TREE still existed in Paul's day. Gentiles who come to belief are "grafted in" among the other branches still attached to the tree.1 point -

Nice! Although I prefer to not use cardinal directions when speaking of the Truth of God. It is more ALL ENCOMPASSING, surrounding those that already love and practice the Truth. Joh 3:21 "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." Note: that Jesus said we must practice the Truth FIRST, and THEN we will come to the light of righteousness. And that road of which you speak is not necessarily a straight road, it is often a winding road that is accessed through the 'narrow' gate that leads us to Truth. Mat 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. Mat 7:14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.1 point -

Green, did you read where I said: If you criticize The One Project for not teaching, as you might claim, certain foundational teachings of the Bible, you might be correct that TOP does not teach those. The one-day and three-day conferences are designed to bring people who need it back to a focus on Christ. Once that has happened, people will need to continue their spiritual journey within a congregational setting and under the leading of the Holy Spirit. Many of the people who attend already have the law. They do not need to be taught that. They need to be taught the gospel and Christ. Others who come have neither Christ, the Gospel, nor the law. They need to be taught the law after they have been taught Christ and the Gospel.1 point -

What particular sect of Judaism do you come from? I have several Jewish acquaintances spanning the spectrum from very traditional to atheist to messianic; and none of them speak like you do. BTW, I am currently of the opinion that the nations of Israel and Judah are still God's chosen people; and that when Yeshua Messiach returns to us, a remnant of those nations will believe and be saved and will share rulership of the planet with Jesus - the King of the Jews. Jews are the root; us Gentile believers are wild branches grafted into the root. The root is there to support the branches; not the other way around.1 point -

The One Project is not perfect as nothing human is perfect, which probably includes you and I. Yes, you can criticize its leadership. Some of your criticism might be valid and some might not be valid. The central theme of The One Project is to make Christ the focus and center of our doctrine and belief. If you call this heresy, you are well beyond the biblical teachings. If you criticize The One Project for not teaching, as you might claim, certain foundational teachings of the Bible, you might be correct that TOP does not teach those. The one-day and three-day conferences are designed to bring people who need it back to a focus on Christ.
