    The Investigative Judgment

The message was false. It did not happen. It was not a lie as all believed it and did not knowingly proclaim what they knew to be false. By the way, SDA historians could, if they wanted to do so, point out an inaccuracy in your statement in the post above. But, that would not make you to be a liar as you have no intention to decieve. It would only mean that you were inaccurate in a minor detail.

    The Air Up There

Chaim Yankel from Chelm couldn’t contain his excitement – this was the first time in his life that he was going to ride an airplane. The plane took off and everything seemed to be going OK until Chaim Yankel heard a loud noise come from outside the plane. The captain came on the intercom and said, "Attention passengers, we just lost one of our engines; but don't worry, the other three engines will keep us up. Also, we will arrive at our destination about an hour behind schedule." Half an hour later, another loud noise sounded from outside the plane. The captain once again came on the intercom, "Attention passengers, do not be alarmed. We lost another engine, but the other two will still keep us flying. We will arrive at our destination about three hours late." After the captain said this, Chaim Yankel leaned over to the passenger next to him and said, "Oy, if those other two engines go out, we'll be up here forever."

    God and the Professor

An atheist professor was teaching a college class and he told the class that he was going to prove that there was no God. He said, "God if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying, "Here I am God, I'm still waiting." He got down to the last couple of minutes and a big 240-pound football player happened to walk by the door and heard what the professor said. The football player walked into the classroom and in the last minute, hit the professor full force, sending him flying off the platform. The professor got up, obviously shaken, and said, "Where did you come from, and why did you do that?" The football player replied, "God was busy; He sent me!"

Are 'Celebration SDA Churches', new path to God, or away from truth?

What would happen if people actually danced to the music, or clapped singing "Praise God, Thank You Jesus, We love You!" ? I have been at a charismatic service (not SDA - heavens, no!) where this exact thing happened, and went on for over 30 minutes. The preacher gave up on giving a sermon and joined in the celebration. It was one of the most blessed I have ever been at a church service. Never seen it before; and never seen it since. I wouldn't call it irreverent; but I sure would call it enthusiastic!

Are 'Celebration SDA Churches', new path to God, or away from truth?

It is common for SDA congregations that are in an early stage of growth to rent space in a Sunday-keeping Protestant church in order to hold services in Saturday. Ihave been the pastor of such congregations. It is common for SDA congregations to rent their building to a Sunday keeping, Protestant congregations for them to hold services on Sunday. I have been a member of congregations that did that. All of the above is well within denominational policy. If it was not, the local Conference could take action to stop it.

    The Investigative Judgment

Gustave, Miller message was false. But, it was not a lie. The word "lie" has the connotation that something was either intentionally false or intended to deceive. Miller believed what he proclaimed. Therefore, while his messaged was false, it was not a lie. By the way, yes Miller's message originally began in the Spring of 1843 and later moved to include a period of time that ended in the Fall of 1844. But, that time period was a 12 month period that simply changed from Spring to Fall. That is why the October 22 date is called the Great Disappointment as that date ended the one year period of time.

    Women Share Their Stories

Reference to a Harvard study that is alleged to show that 70% of domestic violence is initiated by women. * The article was based upon 2001 data. * The article was based upon a study of U. S. adults ages 18 -28, and other ages were excluded. * The article was written in 2006. * The article was published in 2011. * The article dis not say that 70% of domestic violence was initiated by women. * The article did say that domestic violence occurs in reciprocal and in nonreciprocal forms. * The article did say that 50.3% of the studied cases of domestic violence were nonreciprocal. *The article did say that in those nonreciprocal cases, women initiated the violence 70% plus of the time. See: https://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/abs/10.2105/AJPH.2005.079020 Folks, that Harvard study has been grossly misrepresented by people who probably have not read it. It is best to check the facts. No one can say, based upon the Harvard study that women initiate the violence 70% of the time. That is not what the article said.

    The Investigative Judgment

In commenting on the above posts: * Gustave has done well in stating in a very short post what a canonical prophet is. * The Bible mentions what Gustave calls local prophets where were not canonical, such as Nathan and Gad. * The SDA denomination does not teach that Ellen White was canonical. Some of our members seem to believe that she was. But that is counter to SDA teaching. * No, this is not some new term. The word "canonical" has been around for several hundred years. It is a basic term used by students of Scripture.

    The Investigative Judgment

Wander, I do study words because as I have said; I believe that YAHWEH gave the vision to EGW. In Early Writings, she stated clearly that THE MOST HIGH had shown her that words were changed in the Bible. EW p. 220, 221 The Bible made this declaration as well: Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the Commandments of YAHWEH your ELOHIYM which I command you. Deut 4:2 Sacred Name KJV, HRB Every word of ELOAHH is pure: HE is a shield unto them that put their trust in HIM. Add thou not unto HIS Words, lest HE reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Prov 30:4, 5 Sacred Name KJV I marvel that ye are so soon removed from HIM that called you into the grace of MASHIYACH unto another Gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of MASHIYACH. But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or ELOHIYM? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of MASHIYACH. Gal 1:6-9 Sacred Name KJV For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, ELOHIYM shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, ELOHIYM shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev 22: 18, 19 Sacred Name KJV So I do what the Bible says to do and then EGW shown us, again by ELOHIYM. THE MOST HIGH, felt that this was important. Pastor Matthew agreed with me about hell. Words hurt worse then stick and stones so that fable is untrue. Words can lead you down the wrong path and cause people to be confuse. Just one wrong word can throw the whole sentence off. We need to know the correct meaning of words and how they were changed as well. The change meaning of words, also causes us to lose what is true! Again I can only present what the Bible says and it is up to each individual to make his own choice! Happy Sabbath and be bless!

    Thoughts on Idi Amin Dada

Sometimes when I travel, I learn things that are opposite to what I believe and ended up being shocked. I am not saying I agree with their thoughts. I was in Uganda 2-3 times over the past year or so. Met so many people who said Idi Amin Dada was the best President Uganda every had, he made Uganda great, made airports, and infrastructure etc. etc. I was taken back by that. AND various other reasons they gave. I went to his hometown and stayed for a few days. Highly respected. His son is in Politics and respected. Spoke with one of his previous soldiers, very very very hightly respected as a commander in Chief. Blow me out of the waters.

Well, I reviewed some of your earlier posts and found some common themes. Everything you said is cultural. You mention drums: Are you aware that in some countries drums have been used in their SDA services since the beginning of time? I am reminded of a situation in which a General Conference leader, now dead, typically traveled with his accordion when he visited other countries. But, when he visited in some places he would be asked not to bring his accordion as in that country it was not acceptable to be played in church. Cultural issues play a role in all of Adventism. I am reminded of on country in which people who wore blue jeans outside of their home could be disfellowshipped for doing so. It just was not done in that country.

Trump is exporting hate under the guise of religious freedom

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and President Trump appointed Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and past president Gary Bauer to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). There has been little coverage of these outrageous appointments. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump-is-exporting-hate-under-the-guise-of-religious-freedom/2018/05/25/4d64cad0-6036-11e8-b656-236c6214ef01_story.html?

Are 'Celebration SDA Churches', new path to God, or away from truth?

I was away taking care of some personal issues on the Island of Puerto Rico, and some other things and just got back. The island is still a mess, the power went out on the whole island several times and I talked to a electrical engineer who said they only have one main line rather than the normal three, so it will just keep happening till someone comes up with money to redo the infrastructure basically from scratch. Now back to what is happening in our church that has been taken over. Well its worse than I could have imagined, it emptied out our new church, just a handful show up for church on Sabbath. But now it has spread to the other churches. The members of the Spanish SDA church of 300+ are coming to our church telling us the same stories, that their church has been taken over and everyone is leaving, it has lost half its members and from what they are telling us, the worship has been turned into a Pentecostal type service. Its bad, as we have nothing we can do, and we are seeing it spreading to other churches up the coast where the service is being turned into performances of load music and American Idol type of show on the front. They take away anything spiritual from up front including the pulpit and changed it to a stage for the show. It cannot be called worship, reverent or holy what is happening on Sabbath in those churches....
