The Days of Wine And Roses

I agree with some of what Fulcrum7 publishes; some of it I don't. — which is sort of what I find in all groups. So... I use what I like, discard what I don't, and thank God that He didn't clone us to think and behave identically.3 points -

I have a different opinion on Fulcrum7. They usually remind me of the sorts of people who are never happy unless they are complaining about something, and are often on the look out to find or dream up some reason to be offended or outraged.2 points -

They really are not part of a "vast right wing conspiracy!" Different people can write on different topics and some is interesting and some isn't. Don't like it, move along! There are writers there that I will not read because I tend to think they are over impressed with themselves and are seriously ethically challenged. But others write well thought out articles.1 point -

Basic theme: Message to Six Churches (Rev 2:8 – 3:22) The changes to the Teacher’s Edition of the Adult Sabbath School Study Guide (known popularly as the Sabbath School Quarterly) for January to March 2019 were fairly small for this week, I will review the changes that were interesting or substantive. My introduction statement was […] The post Revelation Teacher’s Quarterly, Week 3, January 13-19 Analysis of Changes Made in the Editorial Process for the Teacher’s Edition appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. Yeah, I got the book laying on my desk that I will get to one of these days. Might be an interesting read. However, not sure where the rest of the post was from as the thread started out regarding the behavior of Dan Jackson. I know some are in his corner and few will address the issues of: The vote at the GC was a vote of delegates from the worldwide church, regardless of whether the NAD and a couple of other divisions are getting their knickers in a twist over it. Elder Wilson has the job of implementing the voted motions that pass at the BC convention. While true, he may support those votes, it is not his doings. Jackson is not in charge of the church regardless of how much temper tantrum throwing he does. Jackson's conduct in telling those who disagree with him to "buzz off" was conduct unbecoming a pastor and especially one who is leader of an entire division. What is that teaching your children? Telling people to "buzz off" is about as close as he dare come to giving the proverbial "one finger salute" without actually going there.1 point -

Trivia

The Marriage of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio On January 14, 1954, screen star Marilyn Monroe married former New York Yankees center fielder Joe DiMaggio. Today, we honor that anniversary Trivia Today style with 5 things you didn’t know about their relationship... Marilyn Had No Interest in Meeting the Famed Ball Player An acquaintance of both had introduced Monroe and DiMaggio, but she had little interest in dating him. She was not interested in baseball or men who played sports professionally. Since he had retired from the New York Yankees as one of their best players, she believed he would be an egomaniac and would be loud and flashy. However, during their date, DiMaggio was quiet, reserved and well-dressed, which piqued her interest in getting to know him better. They Were Complete Opposites DiMaggio was a big sports star, didn’t really like to keep himself cultured or go out into the world very much. Marilyn, on the other hand, loved to work on self-improvement, doing things such as attending art exhibits and cultural events and taking college courses. Joe would sit up at home waiting for her, smoking and drinking. This difference in interests contributed to their downfall... They Were Only Married For 8 Months Their romance is infamous, but Monroe was only married to second husband Joe DiMaggio for 274 days. Though many things contributed to their divorce, the infamous “subway scene” in The Seven Year Itch, where the skirt of Marilyn’s white dress billows up, was said to have been the last straw. The scene was shot in front of a large crowd of media and bystanders, and DiMaggio became irate over how much she was exposing herself. They fought over it, and according to some reports, DiMaggio got physical.Monroe filed for divorce on the grounds of “mental cruelty” not long after. After Their Divorce, DiMaggio Would Put on a Disguise to See Marilyn Following their divorce, Marilyn moved into the Waldorf Astoria. One newspaper reported that DiMaggio would hang out in the lobby of the posh hotel for hours, wearing a false beard and hiding behind a newspaper, so he could get a look at Marilyn as she walked by. After Marilyn Tragically Died, DiMaggio Regularly Sent Flowers to Her Grave Long-stemmed red roses arrived at Marilyn’s grave each week for many years until DiMaggio passed away in 1999. She had mentioned that William Powell did this for Jean Harlow, and she hoped someone would do that for her. Since Marilyn died in 1962, flowers were regularly delivered to her at the cemetery for 37 years.1 point -

Moses: Humble: ???
CoAspen reacted to B/W Photodude for a topic
The article was interesting to a point. People confuse words like meek and humble with words like docile and weak. Unfortunately, even all the modern translations of the Bible do not get it. They were supposed to be helping people to understand better than the KJV!. However, the article lost it when it tried to tie Moses into accepting of the LGBT$%# community into the church. Moses did stand back and watch while one of the priests took a spear and impaled two people and tacked them right to the ground and that was a heterosexual misadventure. I suspect that if two people were found to have been engaging in homosexual immorality that they would have been taken out and stoned to death. I am finding it amazing how many articles on Spectrum and atoday end up with a pitch for gay acceptance as regular members. This is not going to end well.0 points
