    The whole armour Ephesians 6

    Satan is described as "the father of lies", and "the deceiver". If a person is truly deceived, he doesn't know it. Many times, the one opposing the LORD (or opposing someone who is teaching truth) is not doing so knowingly or on purpose. He is simply "blinded" by demons. He thinks he is on the right side of things. Paul described the unbelieving Jews as "blinded" by Satan. They had been presented with the truth, but Satan had "blinded them". To break through THAT KIND of "blindness" - we have to do more than simply present the truth. I think we must pray and pray and pray, for the LORD to "open the eyes" of the those so blinded. I remember Tyndale's last prayer. He asked the LORD to "please open the King of England's eyes." And of course, we must pray for ourselves too - that we ourselves may not also be "blinded". I'm thinking about visiting my brother who had a stroke. He cannot talk or understand words. He has improved a little over the last weeks, but is far from the articulate speaker he once was. He has been brought very low. My brother is not a believer in Jesus. Neither is his wife. He even had a "spirit guide" at one time years ago, according to my sister. I've been praying for him for 40 years. This could be the opening. But I'm sure any battle for my brother, would not just be about healing his body, or to show him that Jesus can heal him. It would be a battle for his mind/soul - literally with demons. This is not a fight I can walk into, without knowledge and preparation, and much prayer. I will not go until I feel clearly impressed to go.

    Everyone Loves New Technology

    Mr. Gross, the wealthiest man in shul, went up to Rabbi Feinstein and said, "I want you and the Rebbetzin to take a three-month trip to the Land of Israel at my expense. When you come back, I'll have a surprise for you". The rabbi accepted the offer, and he and his wife went off to the Holy Land. Three months later they returned home and were met by Mr. Gross, who told them that while they were gone, he had a brand new shul built. "It's the finest building money can buy, Rabbi Feinstein," said Mr. Gross. "All the latest technology. No expense was spared." And he was right. It was a magnificent edifice both inside and out. But there was one striking difference. There was only one pew, and it was at the very back. "A shul with only one pew?" asked Rabbi Feinstein. "You just wait until Shabbos," Mr. Gross said. When the time came for the Shabbat service, the early arrivals entered the shul, filed onto the one pew and sat down. When the pew was full, a switch clicked silently, the gears meshed, a belt moved and, automatically, the rear pew began to move forward. When it reached the front of the shul, it came to a stop. At the same time, another empty pew came up from below at the back and more people sat down. And so it continued, pews filling and moving forwards until finally the shul was full, from front to back. “The new shul has been outfitted with many high tech contraptions,” said Mr. Gross, “But don’t worry Rabbi, they were built by religious architects and everything is done in accordance with the laws of Shabbos. "Wonderful!" said the rabbi, "Everyone loves new technology!" The service began, and Rabbi Feinstein started his speech. He launched into his text and, when 12 o'clock came, he was still going strong, with no end in sight. Suddenly a red flag went up and a trap door in the floor behind the bimah dropped open. Mr. Gross walked up to the bimah and down at Rabbi Feinstein who had been safely deposited to the basement. He called out below, “Everyone loves new technology!”

    Moishe’s Buttered Bread

    Moishe and his friend Heshy went out for lunch together every Tuesday. One Tuesday, Moishe wrestled with the problem of whether or not to butter his bread. "I like butter on my bread," he said. "But my diet strictly forbids butter. Maybe I should call Miriam and ask her what to do." "Moishe," Heshy said, "don't be ridiculous. You're a grown man. You should be able to decide, without your wife's help, whether or not to butter your own bread." "You're right," Moishe said. "I'll just have the butter, that's all." When the waiter arrived with the check, Heshy pointed to Moishe and said, "He's paying." "What?" Moishe said. "Why should I have to pay the whole bill?" "Because if you don't," Heshy said, "I'll tell Miriam about the butter."

    The Shiffman Sisters

    The three Shiffman sisters, Sarah, Rebecca and Rachel, ages 92, 94 and 96, live in a house together. One night 96-year-old Sarah draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses. Sarah yells to the other sisters, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?" 94-year-old Rebecca yells back, "I don't know. I'll come up and see." She starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs or down?" 92-year-old Rachel is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters, she shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood..." Rachel then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."

    Two Second Comings?

    stinsonmarri, What will happen to the small children from before the Flood of Noah, from Sodom, from the Northern Kingdom of Israel, from all this 6000 years? What will happen to pagans who died without any knowledge of God and His Son? What will happen to people with mental disabilities? Tell us your opinion on this.

    Just more denominational politics that does nothing to further the gospel. I used to like Cliff; but quit following him a couple years ago when (IMHO) he became a little to full of himself. I know nothing about Loren except that he doesn't think very highly of what he perceives Cliff's theology to be.

    Another ranting article to destroy two individuals, as I see it!! I don't know much about Ted, not someone I've followed or went out of my way to hear speak!! I have known Cliff, personally, but have read a lot of his stuff and also listened to many of his videos! Personally I've never heard him say anything close to what Loren had to say!! Just another, not even sure how to put it without sounding ugly towards Loren so I'll leave it there!! Before I end I will say that I like most of what Loren has written through the years, but since his retirement it seems he's out to get certain people!! Anyway that's the way I see it!!

    Here's your (not so) totally useless fact(s) of the day:

    This game show first debuted in 1964 and is still on the air with millions of people tuning in every night. The answer, of course, is Jeopardy! — or shall we say, “What is Jeopardy!” No, we are not shouting at you. Interestingly, the exclamation point at the end of the word is part of the show’s official name. With over 8,000 episodes aired, the daily syndicated version of Jeopardy! has won a record 33 Daytime Emmy Awards as well as a Peabody Award. Another five awards have been won by Alex Trebek for Outstanding Game Show Host. James

    Climate Change: Is It Real?

    Already the restraining Spirit of God is being withdrawn from the world. Hurricanes, storms, tempests, fire and flood, disasters by sea and land, follow each other in quick succession. Science seeks to explain all these. The signs thickening around us, telling of the near approach of the Son of God, are attributed to any other than the true cause. People cannot discern the sentinel angels restraining the four winds, that they shall not blow until the servants of God are sealed. But when God shall bid His angels loose the winds, there will be such a scene of strife as no pen can picture. {CTr 316.3} We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecy is fast fulfilling. The Lord is at the door. There is soon to open before us a period of overwhelming interest to all who are living. The controversies of the past are to be revived. New controversies will arise. The scenes to be enacted in our world are not even dreamed of. Satan is at work through human agencies. {CTr 316.4} But God’s servants are not to trust to themselves in this great emergency. The program of coming events is in the hands of the Lord. The world is not without a ruler; the Majesty of heaven has the destiny of nations, as well as the concerns of His church, in His own hands. . . . {CTr 316.5}
