Who's fooling who?
BlessedMan and 2 others reacted to B/W Photodude for a topic
Quite the strange post. Acknowledgement of errors past and then we refuse to "see" the correct positions. Wonder why?! And then the "I have taught". Exactly who made you the teacher of correct positions and determined that everyone else should follow you? If you had a few followers in real life, you could almost be a cult leader! So, thank-you, but I do not think I need to seriously study your positions on Bible prophecy. I have quite a bit of other things to study like the Bible, EGW, and other theologians in the church. Seriously, in the words of one pastor, "Repent immediately!" (One of my most favorite preachers ever in the current days.)3 points -

Yeah, it gets annoying to be accused of being a racist and various other "crimes" for offering an opinion. My family has also become very international also. My kids are Jewish when they want to be with many cousins in Israel, I have Korean grandnephews, and my wife is Dominican (which according to the DominicanToday makes her approx half black. DominicanToday published a page which listed the ethnic makeup of Dominicans as approx 50% black, 40% Spanish, 5% Caribe Indian, and the remaining 5% various other ethnic groups). So, getting accused of all these crimes does not make this site a friendly place to be sometimes. I am sure I have some books to be reading! Actually, I have hundreds.2 points -

According to at least one source (Joel Richardson), the church in Iran is one of the fastest growing Christian churches in world. I have seen videos of Iranian Christians praying for Christians in Syria and holding up Israel in prayer. I imagine they look at it with mixed feelings. Joy that one of their biggest adversaries is no longer a threat, and a certain amount of intrepidation over the potential for harsh retaliation against Christians and Jews. Please pray for Christians and Jews (and Muslims) in the Middle East.2 points -

I think it can be easily shown in scripture & SOP that we ARE to confess our "faults" to one another, NOT our sins. Of course, there is a "translation" for just about every flavor of that issue!2 points -

Sounds like the thing that got a lot of priests in trouble listening to those things in the confessional. I know we are supposed to confess to each other, but there are limits to what you should confess! Reminds me of a lot of testimonials I used to hear in college. Someone could get up and go on forever it seemed about how sinful they were (seemingly enjoying the telling) and at the very end for a few seconds it was, "oh yeah, then I got saved!"2 points -

I think you understand the topic very well. I had a period of several years where thats all I did was visit inactive members. I usually ran with about a 75% "success" rate, but there came a day when I was really embarrassed to invite people to church anymore. There was a great flurry of "witnessing" going on re "spiritual warfare," (think Neil T Andersen) and "confessing all the dirtiest things one ever did to the "coordinator."2 points -

I tend to believe that no one on earth understands prophecy as well as the devil, and it won't save him. I also think that we focus too much on prophecy, especially prophecy that doesn't have Jesus at the center of it.2 points -

In my church many years before I came here, many members of the church left in mass.* I have asked why we don't go looking for these people and invite them back. So far, no one is even interested. Not sure how it would work to invite them back to a church that didn't care that they were gone. I did read an article one time that discussed people who left the church. One thing that bothered a lot of the "backsliders" was that no one came looking for them. *The reasons seem to be complex and I am not sure that I understand it or should understand what happened.2 points -

There is too much "I" in everything you write! When God gives a message, it happens. You would not be in the position of trying to explain why you were wrong. The Bible was designed to be a guide to all who wish to become acquainted with the will of their Maker. ... Those important matters that concern our salvation were not left involved in mystery. They were not revealed in such a way as to perplex and mislead the honest seeker after truth. Said the Lord by the prophet Habakkuk: “Write the vision, and make it plain, ... that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2. The word of God is plain to all who study it with a prayerful heart. By the cry, Liberality, men are blinded to the devices of their adversary, while he is all the time working steadily for the accomplishment of his object. As he succeeds in supplanting the Bible by human speculations, the law of God is set aside, and the churches are under the bondage of sin while they claim to be free. Great Controversy p.521 ** When you are wrong, is it because you are engaging in human speculations? BTW, how come you were unable to predict the taking out of Soliemani by drone strike the other day? That seems like it is something that really should have been on your radar, or will you be back searching Scripture to see how you missed it?! Oh, I pick my theologians to follow very carefully! **This quote was in this weeks Sabbath school lesson beginning the new quarter on the book of Daniel.2 points -

New Year Resolutions
JoeMo and one other reacted to phkrause for a topic
I tried posting the actual video of this the other day, I believe yesterday, but couldn't without posting my whole email list!! Anyway lets see if I can remember what I posted with it?? I'm not really into New Years Resolutions, but this is what my feelings have been about this subject. I know this is the your thoughts forum so don't be to mad that I'm actually someone else's thoughts even though my thoughts actually are the same. With the video it was much better. Anyway here it is: A COVENANT FOR WANDERERS (January 3, 2020) Make covenants, not resolutions, as you walk into the year, for covenants give us company in keeping what we pledge. A resolution with no witness is too often just a wish, a good intention with nothing but our declining willpower to make the vital difference. The covenants we really need are bigger than our diets and more urgent than our visits to the gym. We need companions to whom we’ll make the most important promises of all: to tell each other just the truth; to remind each other of how good the gospel is; to continue walking side by side through any guilt or fear the new year brings. Agree with someone in your life—a spouse, a friend, another sinner saved by grace—with whom you’ll travel in days ahead—by phone, by app, by real steps on real roads. Pledge perseverance, not perfection, for walking with another sinner will reveal how much you both need constant grace. And when you stumble, as you will, a hand will lift you up, and brush you off, and help you keep on walking. As this year starts, invite some other to what Jesus now invites you: “Come walk with me: keep covenant.” That’s how you’ll stay in grace. -Bill Knott ps: I just notice that this is Bill Knots thoughts, the video really doesn't tell you this.2 points -

I also will like to say along with what Pastor Matthew is saying, Iran cannot compete with us in a conventional war. This is another evading trick of you know who! It will backfire on him because terrorist is the main thing that Iran is known for will increase! We will see again a rise here in terrorist acts brought on by this action. Just remember one thing YAHWEH is in control and things are happening to wake us up! Neither Iran nor Korea will stop the prophetic prophecies that YAHWEH has given in the Bible. Satan is trying everything to stop them and many sadly will be terrified and not remain on the ship that will guide those who are faithful home. Watch THE MIGHTY HAND of THE ALMIGHTY WORK! Happy Sabbath!1 point -

What I also see in this video is that Muslims have more reference and respect for their house of worship then we do. They believe also in cleansing themselves which also was a required practice of the priest before they enter the Holy Place and Aaron The Most Holy Place! When judging others we should reflect back on are method of worship. Thanks for the video brother Stan! Happy Sabbath and blessings!1 point -

You do not read Pence in that Scripture at all! What you are doing is adding a false message, when the Bible clearly says don't. There will never be any Sunday law, the SDA myth! First, where is the words; :I saw or I was shown or the angel showed me," none. This was the view of the church and not of YAHWEH. Then notice that is says see appendix note 13, that they put in without EGW had in her original writing of this book. It is done is not in Daniel 12:1 show me! The Sabbath is not the seal, the sealing process will be done by THE HOLY SPIRIT! The angels flying from the east had the seal to show it would not be complete until the 144,000 called IsraEL are seal and the great multitude. You need to stop reading and ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to lead and guide you when you study the Bible! Happy Sabbath!1 point -

That statement looks rather judgmental. Did you come to that conclusion after reading all the posts on this thread or just the last few pages? Its really sad to see that all you want to do here is to quip back at anyone who dares to question your prophecy prowess. Setting yourself against us all as THE expert, who is never wrong, even when he is wrong, is hypocrisy, not prophecy. Trying to tell people they are "judgmental" because they made an observation of what they are seeing says more about you than the person you direct it at. The Bible commands believers to exercise "righteous judgment" in deciding right from wrong. "It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment." (Prov 18:5), and " Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." (John 17:24). Why are you on a Christian forum telling people to not do something that the Bible clearly tells them to do? Your "prophecy" is no different. Its just incantations of prediction. The Bible talks about "the sin of witchcraft." Maybe it's time for us to review that here? It is nothing but a rejection of the word of God to pump it out as "prophecy" when it has nothing to do with Christ, and dwells on the prediction mindset and its maker.1 point -

Can we PULEEESE get off of the race card? This is supposed to be a Christ-centered topic; not one about racial sensitivity. Color won't matter at the Second Coming unless you make a contentious issue out of it. People may look at the outside (e.g., skin color); but Jesus looks at the heart. Racism (in both directions) is endemic in our fallen era. Some people are, but not everyone is a racist. At least for me, race is not an issue. I have African American, Asian, Hispanic, and Native American relatives and in-laws. Yes; I like most of them and don't like some of them; but it has to do with their character and not their skin color. There are saints of all colors and jerks of all colors. Can't we appreciate the diversity of our cultures rather than denigrate those who are afraid of diversity?1 point -

So true, there is no such thing as a fake $3.00 bill because there is no such thing as a real $3.00 bill! Everyone is looking for a devil with tail & pitchfork, and meanwhile he is dressed in a suit and has your sons or daughters for his pleasure just down the street, or, heaven forbid, in your own house. People (me included) are blind to this kind of "stealth" because they dont want to see it. The whole time we have a Bible in our hands, so does the devil! (see Mat 4, etc.) What we are seeing in certain things being coined as "prophecy" here is a complete lack of His Presence; a total and wilful exclusion of "The Hand That Intervenes!" WA Spicer wrote a wonderful book about that, and even on the inside cover, before he gets down to the subject at hand, he is talking about THAT hand, which most of the "prophecy" in this topic seems to ignore: Why THAT hand is not the center and the foundation of ALL prophecy, Ill never know. It really is a shame.1 point -

Yes, what the Lord has prophesied will happen. But, your prophecy is not the prophecy of the Lord, even if it happens. As I have said before, in essence: Probability tells us that on occasion you will be correct.1 point
