    What Genuine Peace Cost (20:3)

Jesus brought peace, not by assuring us that He would be our friend in court, but by showing us there is no need for Him to plead with the Father in our behalf, for the Father is just as much our friend. The only way to set us right, keep us right, and restore us […] The post What Genuine Peace Cost (20:3) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. View the full article

  3. Well, IDK if anyone will fault me for this or not, but I have to say that some time ago, I decided I had no real way to solve this issue. Over the years I have consistently kept the Sabbath with just one rule as I couldnt handle the constant bickering about whether it was "right" or "wrong" to keep the Sabbath, with all the many rights and wrongs; now its simple: by just looking out my window, seeing if the sun looked like it was setting, and if it looked like It was setting, thats when I started the sabbath. Thats still "the Sabbath day "of the Lord Thy God," as far as I know. There is no text in scripture which switches Sunday over to the Sabbath, or changes them around somehow. The seven days of the week have always been the same. It was never the case Sabbath was changed, only Sunday If the RCCs think they would like to change the one day, then other days and times would have to change too. IDK but as far as I know, RCCs if they feel so strongly about "keeping Sunday," then according to the Bible; they can only call it "Sunday keeping," they can't call it "keeping the sabbath"; for Saturday is keeping the Sabbath so as Saturday, IS and WAS the "seventh day Sabbath" - not of The Adventist Church, but "of The Lord Thy God.;" this is what Adventists keep and why

Conversation in Christ ?? 1Peter 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

    Trivia

5 Surprising Facts You Didn't Know About Martin Luther King Jr. Today is a day set aside to remember and honor late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Day is commemorated on the third Monday in January each year. Here are 5 surprising facts you didn't know about this widely respected activist and man of peace... His First Name Wasn’t Martin The civil rights leader was born Michael King Jr. on January 15, 1929. In 1934, however, his father, a pastor at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, traveled to Germany and became inspired by the Protestant Reformation leader Martin Luther. As a result, King Sr. changed his own name as well as that of his 5-year-old son. The FBI Aggressively Monitored Him Former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover was so obsessed with King that he bugged his home and offices while trying to tie his activism to Communism, which was later discredited. In fact, two days after delivering his earth-shattering “I Have A Dream” speech, King was described as “the most dangerous” at least “from the standpoint of … national security” in an FBI assessment. In short, he was basically on what would be considered today as a terrorist watch list for speaking out against racial discrimination in America. He is a Grammy Winner Even after his untimely death, King was still picking up huge honors. One of them was a posthumous Grammy for his speech Why I Oppose the War in Vietnam. After being the youngest man to ever win the Nobel Peace prize in 1964, he would also be one of the youngest to posthumously win the Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honors an American civilian can receive. His Mother Was Also Assassinated On June 30, 1974, as 69-year-old Alberta Williams King played the organ at a Sunday service inside Ebenezer Baptist Church, Marcus Wayne Chenault Jr. rose from the front pew, drew two pistols and began to fire shots. One of the bullets struck and killed King, who died steps from where her son had preached nonviolence. The deranged gunman said that Christians were his enemy and that although he had received divine instructions to kill King’s father, who was in the congregation, he killed King’s mother instead because she was closer. The shooting also left a church deacon dead. King Was Imprisoned Nearly 30 Times According to the King Center, the civil rights leader went to jail 29 times. He was arrested for acts of civil disobedience and on trumped-up charges, such as when he was jailed in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1956 for driving 30 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.

    SDA Fundamental Beliefs

In the following Jack Hoehn suggests five (5) fundamental SDA beliefs that have stood the test of time--not 28. https://atoday.org/adventist-tomorrow-the-pillars-of-adventism/ I suggest that his article has some value.

  7. I am not an expert in either the Geek, or Hebrew languages of the Bible. I have some knowledge, but it is limited. The following website addresses that issue that I mentioned and does it better that I did. https://www.gotquestions.org/genesis-days.html NOTE: The above website provides additional sources of information that are helpful. It may be asked as to whether or not the above website is a SDA website. Due to the fact that it clearly states that the SDA practice related to Sabbath keeping is not a Christian practice today I do not believe that it is a SDA website.

  8. The Catholic Church is worried about Sunday in following context [ what we call the Sunday Obligation ]. We believe that Hebrews 10, 25-26 says that failing to gather En Masse is a sin. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." "Christian Assembly", at the time of the Apostles, was held in home churches dedicated for such purposes. It's true that the Apostles went to the Temple and Synagogues "on the sabbath" HOWEVER, THAT wasn't Christian Assembly. Christians were not assembling themselves together at the Temple or the Synagogue on Saturday. The Bible states that Christians were assembling themselves together on the 1st day of the week. Acts 20,7 / 1 Corinthians 16, 1-3 & 1 Corinthians 11, 17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. I gather from the above that when Christians assembled themselves together THAT grouping was "the Church". After the service the individuals who made up the Church went about their ways and then gathered back together again. It would seem from reading Scripture this primarily took place on the 1st day of the week. It's in this context that the Catholic Church is concerned about Sunday. We are not thinking the SDA's are foiling the plans of Satan and therefore have to do something about it.
