  1. Not necessarily, and for a couple reasons. First this more liberal view of Pope Frances could cause a conservative backlash. Second, Adventist tradition has us moving from the 6th head to back to the 5th head, the Holy Roman Empire with Papal supremacy, instead of moving a head to the 7th head. The Pope still plays a role in the 7th head but more of a secondary role as the moral voice of the head. The 7th head is the world united under economic cooperation. I'm afraid that many Seventh-day Adventists are going to be so busy looking for the return to the 5th head that we will miss the 7th head. Third, Revelation 13 says that it is the lamb like beast forcing the world to get-in-line, not the 5th head of the beast. The lamb like beast is technically in it's most basic form us as individuals. We can broaden this to applying to a nation that is based on individualism, Americanism, and starts out like Christ, and on Protestantism, and how these will tell us that it will be to our advantage to go along with the system. The dragon represents Satan and demons working directly, and their message is that God has no right to place a law over us, that the only truth is what is truth for you. Existentialism (where your existential experience is the FINAL source of truth, but even then our existential experience, as well as our will power ends up getting lost as we become slaves to our feelings. ) The beast is in a lot of ways the opposite to the dragon. The beast is any organization that replaces God in our life, who ends up telling us what we are to believe and do and is not that interested in our existential situation. Liberals are more attracted to the dragon, conservatives are more attracted to the beast. The lamb-like beast that ends up speaking like a dragon tells the liberals that it is to their advantage to go along with the beast even though they disagree with it. Once there was a conference with faith leaders from many different faith traditions, both Christian and non-Christian. At the end of the conference a pastor stood up and said "I use to be very aggressive in evangelism, but now I see that you have a living relationship with God and I am no longer going to try to make Christians out of you." When he said that a wise rabbi stood up. He said to the pastor, "Don't say that! Jesus told you to spread the gospel and you will not be faithful if you did not share the gospel with the rest of us. The message of this conference is not to get you to stop spreading the gospel, but only a message to be careful how you do it. " I am not sure if Pope Francis is telling us not to share the gospel (which would fit our idea of last day events of trying to get everyone to come together in relationship to the 7th head) or if he is (rightfully) warning that we have often tried to spread the gospel in very unkind ways, a lot of using external control psychology to push what we believe, instead of sharing in love what we believe, listening to others with listening love and respect and let the Holy Spirit take care of the rest. The dragon is Satan and the demon's working directly and promotes spiritualism, the idea of live as you please for heaven is your home, there is no truth except for what is true for you

    Hashem Knows

One day Rivka Bloom was explaining to her young son Moishie that you should never tell a lie. She told him that Hashem saw everything and heard everything. She explained, "Even though your father and I may not know if you are telling a lie, Hashem will know." Little Moishie replied, "But will He tell?"

    Priorities

A flight attendant on a busy New York to Tel Aviv flight nervously announced about thirty minutes after takeoff, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I don't know how this happened, but we have 103 passengers aboard and only 40 dinners." When the passengers' muttering had died down, she continued, "Anyone who is kind enough to give up their meal so someone else will be eligible for free air mile points." Her next announcement came an hour later. "If anyone wants to change their mind, we still have thirty-nine dinners available!"

    Moishe’s Best Friend

A salesman made a sales call to Moishe’s Jewelers in the diamond district in New York. Not a soul was in the office except a big dog emptying wastebaskets. The salesman stared at the animal, wondering if his imagination could be playing tricks on him. The dog looked up and said, "Don't be alarmed. This is just part of my job." "Incredible!" exclaimed the man. "I can't believe it! Does your boss know what a prize he has in you? An animal that can talk!" "Moishe? No way!" said the dog. "Don’t say anything! If that miser finds out I can talk, he'll make me answer the phone, too!"

Pope Francis Tells Christians Not to Try to Convert Nonbelievers

Photodude: That was a very interesting article. However, I agree that it is our character that should assist in leading others to the truth. It appears that most get faith and truth mixed up. Faith is: Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Hab 2:4 It is truth that gives us faith to change and become more like THE FATHER! You see if you do not understand what truth is you think that you should not approach a person that doesn't know the truth. We now come to a new trick that Satan is doing, saying now you cannot convert someone or you are forcing that person from what he used to believe. That again is trying to stop truth and putting down conversion. We do not convert, THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES! We present and the heart becomes convicted and then comes conversion. It is a process and the mind must choose to hear and receive the message of truth! Thanks for the article! Blessings!

Pope Francis Tells Christians Not to Try to Convert Nonbelievers

good morning Stinsonmarri; I sincerely wish you God's peace. I thought I could make this post as a small lesson in the English language, (grammar) in order to let you know about what I meant by what I said. In English, it is often the case where we use a phrase, in a representative way of something that is known to happen from time to time. When I said "those evil Protestants," it was not really a direct reference to Akin, but rather to the typical, historically documented and ongoing fracas between Catholics and Protestants. So I used the phrase to represent a common attitude that many non-Protestants use in their "evangelism." I am not trying to convince you of anything, just explaining how/why I used the phrase. English Grammar is a little tricky at times, we all tend to use it differently, depending on where we live. May the Lord add His blessing to the reading of His Word. I can picture you sharing your experience with Christ, with the people in your life. They are fortunate to have you. Take care, till next time.

    COVID-19

Seems Covid-19 (Coronavirus) is on everyone's mind and the nation (world) is in a meltdown. However, it is not doomsday. There are some people who should be concerned, but stay calm! the following link gives some info on why one should not panic: Coronavirus: Ten reasons why you ought not to panic https://theconversation.com/coronavirus-ten-reasons-why-you-ought-not-to-panic-132941 However, this does not mean people should not behave in a prudent manner. Study the situation and follow reasonable recommendations. This WILL pass. Some will become ill from this, so when should you go for testing. The following link will give you some guidelines for when to go for testing: Covid-19 Self Assessment https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/Assessment.aspx (Thanks BlessedMan, for the link!) Should you test positive for the virus, they are not really going to do anything for you anyway unless you are life threateningly ill. Just like with the flu. Go home and take care of your self. There are some guidelines when you should seek help such as extreme difficulty with breathing or you are cyanotic (turning blue about the lips for a start) But thanks to herbal and alternative medicines, you can do some healthcare on your own. You can take selenium supplements (Read up on this one as low selenium levels can allow virus to go crazy in your body.) Elderberry: Benefits and Dangers https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/elderberry#health-benefits If you are able to get dried elderberry the following is a recipe you can make your own elderbery syrup at home: Homemade Elderberry Syrup https://www.gracefullittlehoneybee.com/homemade-elderberry-syrup/ If unable to get elderberrys, you can get commercial elderberry preparations going by the name of Sambuca (the botanical genus name for elderberries!) I suspect there may be beginning a run on it by this time. Elderberries do not cure the virus. What they do is calm down the systemic response to a virus invasion. Elderberries are good for influenza and the common cold. Don't forget, influenza is still raging in this country and also killing a lot of people.I suspect that the the Covid precautions will also help end the epidemic of influenza!

    You Are Under arrest!

During my time in the military, I once served as a chaplain to a large military police unit. As such I got to know a number of people who were convicted of crimes and spent time in prison for very stupid mistakes in thinking that they could get away with it. I will mention one: This was a young soldier, of low rank and, who was married and living in military housing. He was accused of some wrong doing that I have forgotten. A warrant was issued by a judge to search his home. During that search, a cardboard box was discovered that contained $100,000 in cash! But, they had not expected to find such. So, the warrant did not list cash as an item to be discovered. So, in compliance with the law, after inventory, the cash was returned to the soldier. The soldier thought that he was off the hook. What he did not understand was that every where he went, at any time of the day or night, he was accompanied by a law enforcement official. This included him going to the military airport and using forged papers flying to other parts of the world on a Friday and returning on a Sunday. On every flight, he was accompanied by a law enforcement official of which he had no knowledge. That person accompanied him wherever he went when he got off the flight. In addition, all of the luggage that he carried on the flights was carefully inspected. This went on for several weeks. After several weeks, the end came. Ten (10) solders were arrested for smuggling drugs into the United States! Folks, if you are a person of low income who is found to have $100,000 in cash, that is going to get the attention of the authorities. NOTE: You may wonder how a person so stupid could come up with forged papers that allowed him to fly on military air craft as he did. He didn't. The people who paid him to smuggle the drugs came up with the required paperwork and all of the instructions needed to travel. They had the knowledge.

Pope Francis Tells Christians Not to Try to Convert Nonbelievers

Greetings Stinson: I am actually not really sure what your point was in the last post above. I do know that Akin is a highly esteemed Roman catholic Apologists; at least, esteemed in RCC circles. I am quite familiar with his work, and he posts regularly on a major Catholic forum. And its not wrong to agree with something he says. He seems quite clear that his mandate is to "convert" all the evil Protestants, and their "misunderstandings" of Catholicism. I guess you just gave him some good advertising here! I couldnt agree with you more. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (1 Thes 5:21)

It has already been stated above that Breitbart is not an official voice for the Catholic church. Called Mob mentality. In Bible times, this same mentality led to the severest persecutions and butchery ever.

Pope Francis Tells Christians Not to Try to Convert Nonbelievers

Thank you. This post helps prove my points above. While the Pope is, of course, well within his rights to define such for RCCs; he is not the one who defines it for everyone else. While we all seem to grovel in our accusations about "the centralizing of kingly powers," we freely promote this papal pronouncement; which in fact is only a small portion of what scripture says on the subject. Its kind of like Mat 4 where just a snippet of the text was quoted to Jesus. As I have said before, history does tend to repeat itself.

    Trivia

5 Things You Didn't Know About the Movie The Godfather_2 The Godfather, a movie based on Mario Puzo's novel of the same name, premiered in New York on this date in 1972. Leave the gun, take the cannoli, and celebrate these 5 things you didn't know about The Godfather... The Studio Did NOT Want To Cast Marlon Brando Coppola wasn't the only one in Paramount's sights as someone who (initially, at least) shouldn't have been working on the film. The studio didn't want Brando in the movie. That's hard to believe now, since it's nearly impossible to imagine anyone else playing the elderly, mush-mouthed mob boss, but it's true—Paramount even suggested British thespian Sir Laurence Olivier. In the end director Coppola tricked Brando into a screen test that impressed the studio, and they got on board. Marlon Brando Didn't Bother Memorizing His Lines. Brando insisted that reading his lines during the take increased his spontaneity and made his lines sound less canned. “If you have a general idea of what the words are, then you look at the card and it gives the feeling to viewer that the person is really searching for what he is going to say,” Brando said in the documentary The Making of Superman: The Movie. Brando began using the cards as early as 1966; directors taped cards to lamps, bushes, and even on other actors to keep them from showing up in the shot. One of The Movie’s Most Famous Lines Was Improvised If you don’t know anything about The Godfather, you probably recognize the line, “Leave the gun. Take the cannoli,” uttered by capo Peter Clemenza who'd just taken out a snitch. He threw in the utterly genius "take the cannoli," and a legendary line was born. The Horse’s Head Was Real And so were actor John Marley’s screams. A fake horse head was used in rehearsals, but when the cameras were actually rolling, Coppola replaced it with the real thing, much to Marley’s surprise. Several Actors Prepared For Their Roles By Consulting Real Mobsters It may give some fans of the movie a jolt to learn that James Caan, Robert Duvall, and Al Pacino all researched their roles by hanging with actual mobsters. Caan, for example, paid close attention to body language, noting the true made men tended to touch themselves, always adjusting their shirts or crotches. He's still around so revealing this apparently didn't piss off his consultants.

    COVID-19

slowing down the rate of virus patients is good. If a bulge of the population needing medical care gets greater than the hospital facilities to treat them.... like in Italy now. they will have to be deciding who lives and who dies. Here in my community all schools are closed from elementary to university as of tuesday this next week. They will be arranging remote education. and they are looking at closing the washington oregon border.
