Revelation by Dr. Sigve Tonstad

I agree, he does a nice job on that count. I also have Paulien's books and find strengths and weaknesses in them. Its more a question for me of which i want to talk about more. I have heard claims like this before, have yet to find a really good explanation of same, with reliable references. I have done my own, independent research on this aspect, and find most of the "Adventist speak" to be true; however, there is that pesky little idea of what to we do with what we know, and how do we use it?2 points -

Pandemic or Plandemic?
Morwenna reacted to JoeMo for a topic
I'm torn as well. I do believe that the virus is real and extremely contagious. I will comply with the mandatory directive in my state to wear a mask in public, even though I think wearing a mask is inherently unhealthy for me - breathing my own germs and CO2 back into my body., and the air moves around the side of my masks instead of through it. Our brick and mortar church remains closed; so we're doing Zoom church. I'm not crazy about it. Attendance has dropped precipitously and tithes and offereings are practically non-existent. I can't go see my kids and grandkids without being in danger of being quarantined for two weeks. If this "plandemic" continues much longer - especially of kids can't go back to school in the fall, the mental, emotional, and economic impact of the shutdown will be far worse than the plandemic itself. The longer it goes on, the closer we will come to the prophesied one-world government. Come soon Lord Jesus! Amen! We have a mentally disturbed 42 year-old son living with us that is a constant worry with his psychotic delusions. We can't move him out of the house because of the @#$% Covid restrictions. His craziness is becoming contagious. It's making us crazy!1 point -

5 Fun-Facts You Didn't Know About Disneyland On July 17, 1955, Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California. It's estimated that just under 45,000 people make their way to Disney's land of enchantment every single day! That's not the only fun fact we know about Disneyland—here are five more interesting tidbits you probably didn't know... Walt Disney Had A Secret Apartment in the Park Although Walt apparently loved to walk around the park and chat with visitors, he still needed a retreat after a long day. It turns out, he had his own secret apartment within Disneyland – a small spot above the fire department on Main Street. While Walt is sadly no longer around, the apartment remains, and the park employees apparently keep the light in the window to symbolize his presence in the park. Walt and his wife aren't the only residents of Disneyland, though—the park is also home to over 200 feral cats that help keep rodents and pests down to a minimum within the park walls. Members of the Cast Can’t Use One Finger to Point It isn’t unusual for visitors to ask employees at Disney for directions, but workers there never use only one finger to point. This is because Disneyland is a vacation location for visitors from all around the world, and pointing with one finger is considered offensive or rude in some cultures. Employees gesture either by using two fingers or an open palm to avoid offending anyone. The Matterhorn Is Equipped With a Basketball Court The Matterhorn is a popular attraction at Disneyland, and tourists probably don’t know that there is a half-court basketball court inside. It was installed for the use of employees near the top of the mountain and contains a net and full backboard. Unfortunately, not just anyone can take a break from lining up for rides to play a few rounds of ball – the secret court is only for employees. Future-President Ronald Reagan Hosted a Live Telecast of the Park's Opening.\ Sure, he would later become the President of the United States, but when Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, Ronald Reagan was just an unemployed actor looking for his next gig in Hollywood. Disney found him and brought him on to host the live telecast of the park's opening. Tickets cost just $1, and there was only 18 attractions compared to the 52 today. Other notable former Disneyland employees include Steve Martin, who was a magician at the park, and Michelle Pfieffer, who played Alice in Wonderland. If You Hear "Code V," Keep an Eye Out...For Vomit If you’re ever at Disneyland and hear there’s a Code V near a particular ride, you may want to avoid that area. "Code V" is the term used among the park's 23,000 employees for when someone has a few too many churros before getting on the teacups ride. Needless to say, if you hear someone yell out "Code V in progress!" keep an eye out for any flying leftovers coming your way.1 point -

I have a few different books on Revelation and Daniel, and find none of them to say nasty things about Catholics or anything about Muslims at all one way or the other! I have a SIL who's Catholic and she used to tell my Mom that we have to be Catholic to be able to go to heaven, yet she is one really beautiful Christian. I've also in my 60 years of being a SDA have never heard one sermon that made Catholics sound like bad people either. What I have heard is other denominations that have done so and also individual SDAs that have said things that were not very nice about Catholics. As far as Jon Paulien is concerned I understand that he's one of the top interpreters of Revelation?? Having said all that I pretty much enjoy all books on D&R!!1 point -

Did the Apostles Fail God's Test regarding the Greatest Commnadment?

O.K,. Gustave, let us take a look at 1 Corinthians 16: 1 & 2: * I do not have any problem with stating that the day in question here is the 1st day of the week, that in English we call Sunday. It is not Saturday. This is beyond any reasonable question. * The Jewish system required both Tithe and other offerings. One aspect of that system was not based upon a set amount. Rather it consisted of a per-cent of one's net income after expenses had been deducted. [NOTE: I am aware of aspects of this that could be debated, but are not a part of this discussion.] * From the perspective of a per-cent of net income, some computation of the net income was required. An observant Jew would not be doing this on the Sabbath. As you said, they would not even take up a collection on the Sabbath. Personally, I think that your argument helps to establish that this 1st day of the week was not the worship day. * Coming from this background, it is reasonable for Paul to be telling the Christians to do their computation of Tithe and offerings on a day on which they are not meeting in worship--Sunday. * The fact that you may tell me that in 125 A.D. some Christians were worshiping on Sunday does not establish that in the time of Paul, (when writing to the Corinthians) the Christians were worshiping on Sunday.1 point -

Heathen gods of the Old Testament

Hinduism is a religion that believes in one god, which manifests itself in some 360,000,000 forms. The technical word that describes this belief is kenotheism. NOTE: If you look the word "kenotheism" up on the Internet, you will find some convoluted definitions of that word. I am using a definition used by scholars of religion.1 point -
