Media Bill Maher has a blunt message for Democrats in wake of election disaster: ‘Losers look in the mirror’ Maher alleged that Trump won because 'this country has had enough of the anti-common sense woke bulls---.' abriel Hays Fox News Published November 9, 2024 4:02pm EST as are stupid' HBO’s "Real Time" host Bill Maher had a blunt assessment for the Democratic Party after they lost the presidential election to President-elect Donald Trump this week. The comedian opened his Friday night show by demanding that the party take a long hard look at itself following the defeat and realize that Americans want common sense policies, not woke ones. "My message to the losers: losers look in the mirror," he declared, before berating the studio audience for going dead silent following the line DEMOCRATS LOOKING TO POINT FINGERS AFTER ‘HUMILIATING’ ELECTION DEFEAT SHOULD START WITH MEDIA: WSJ COLUMNIST "No? Well, maybe you should." He then recited a series of jokes ripping the Democratic Party for not seeing Trump’s historic victory from a mile away. "I mean, for months Democrats have been saying, ‘How is this even close?’ And they’re right. It wasn’t." He added, "They could not conceive of a second Trump term. But they should have. When does America ever turn down seconds?" Maher continued, remarking on just how significant the President-elect’s victory was this week. "Trump won all the swings [states], all seven, and he ran the table," the comic said. "Trump won so big, today he called the Secretary of State in Georgia and he asked him to lose him 11,000 votes," Maher quipped, referencing Trump’s 2020 phone call to Georgia officials asking them to help find him the amount of votes he needed to overcome then-candidate Joe Biden’s lead in the state. NEW YORK TIMES CALLS TRUMP VICTORY A ‘GRAVE THREAT’ TO THE REPUBLIC President-elect Donald Trump celebrating beating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race early Wednesday morning. (Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) The consistent Trump critic continued praising Trump’s performance on Election Day, adding, "But you know, he has an amazing coalition. He kept the old crowd that likes him. He got a lot of new voters. He got a lot of people who say they just want to see what he’ll do." "I call this the ‘get-the-cat-high’ vote," the host quipped. Trump did make one of the largest improvements in consecutive GOP election performances in decades. According to CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten, Trump improved over his last election results in 49 states, and Washington, D.C. "But, I mean, he did better like in every demographic. The exit poll said he grabbed 52 percent of White women. He also got their votes," Maher joked. Later in the segment, he took swipes at liberals, including Vice President Kamala Harris. He joked, "They say she saw the writing on the wall. Around ten o’clock at night on Election Night, she called McDonald's to see if she could get her old job." He then slammed her for underperforming "in every demographic," though he mocked her for polling "very well among illegal immigrant inmates who want sex change operations," a reference to a policy she expressed support for in 2019. Though he provided a sober assessment of why the Democratic Party lost, stating, "Oh, well, make no mistake, this election was very much about what I’ve been saying here and lost a lot of fans for saying over the years, that this country has had enough of the anti-common sense woke bulls---."2 points -

FEMA official fired for directing hurricane relief away from Trump supporters' homes Michael Dorgan, Sarah Rumpf-Whitten Sat, November 9, 2024 at 9:56 AM CST 4 min read ways A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) official who instructed Hurricane Milton relief workers to skip homes with Trump signs has been fired from her role, a FEMA spokesperson tells Fox News, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is investigating the federal agency over the controversy. The FEMA official, who has not been named by the agency, instructed workers canvassing Lake Placid in Florida to "avoid homes advertising Trump," as they ascertained what residents could qualify for federal aid, according to internal messages first obtained by the Daily Wire. The Daily Wire reports that government employees told the outlet that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were bypassed from the end of October and into November due to the "best practices" guidance from the official. The houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote messages such as: "Trump sign no entry per leadership," in a government system, per the outlet. On Saturday, FEMA's administrator on employee misconduct, Deanne Criswell, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the employee had been fired, calling her actions "reprehensible" and a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. "We take our mission to help everyone before, during and after disasters seriously. This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel," Criswell said. "I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again." A FEMA spokesperson told Fox News Friday that it is "deeply disturbed" by the employee’s actions and that it is an "isolated incident." "FEMA helps all survivors regardless of their political preference or affiliation," the spokesperson said via a statement. "The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident," the spokesperson said, adding that the agency has helped more than 365,000 households impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida and provided nearly $900 million in direct assistance to survivors." "We are horrified that this took place and therefore have taken extreme actions to correct this situation and have ensured that the matter was addressed at all levels."1 point -

Where does it say that? where does it say Noah lied? I am in agreement with you about bias towards race, but I don't think it is necessary to make Ham look like a good guy just to try to prove prejudice way back. There is good and bad in every family. what does Ham have to do with this pastor?1 point -

Elections and Adventism
phkrause reacted to Gregory Matthews for a topic
Elections and Adventism R 110524 We in the United States are at the place in an election season where the votes have been cast. All have had the opportunity to state their view on the issues. All that remains relates to the determination of the final decisions and the extent to which that decision will be accepted by the public at large. Generally, the SDA Church has taken the position that voting is an individual decision to be made by the member. It has refrained from endorsing candidates, and it has limited recommendations on issues to those related to the mission of the Church. I agree with this position, as I believe that the SDA Church must be a safe place for a group of people who are united in our spiritual mission, but may differ on the issues and candidates on which we vote. From this perspective I have attempted to refrain from publishing any comment that might be understood to advocate a position that should be the choice of the individual. In our historical past, early Adventists were more likely to take political positions than we may be today. To the surprise of many, Ellen White advocated involvement in the political process. Arthur L. White, the grandson of Ellen, writing on page 399 of the first volume of his biography tells us of a discussion that those early leaders had in which it was thought right to vote ”in favor of right and against wrong.” The context seems to indicate that Ellen agreed with this view. Writing in volume 3 of this same set, Arthur L. White on page 160 tells us of a specific instance where Ellen White said: ” . . . perhaps I shall shock some of you if I say, If necessary vote on the Sabbath day for prohibition if you cannot at any other time.” This statement has been understood to tell us that Ellen White believed it proper to vote on the Sabbath when moral issues were involved and votes could not be made at any other time. That is a position that I take. Without discussion as to what position I think that she would take, I clearly think that she would advocate voting on Sabbath on the issue of abortion, if it was needed to vote at that time. This election has raised issues that has resulted in some Adventists advocating more Adventist involvement in the election process, perhaps to an actual recommendation as to who should be elected. Calvin B. Rock, is a well respected scholar and administrator. He has served the SDA Church for some 60 years. This service has included being the President of Oakwood University and as a Vice President of the General Conference. He has now filmed a video in which he endorses a candidate for President of the United States. The following link takes you to an article with a link to that video. https://atoday.org/calvin-rock-retired-gc-vice-president-records-promotional-video-for-kamala-harris/ The following article is well worth reading and it suggests that Christians should not remain neutral on some aspects of the political agenda. https://atoday.org/should-adventists-remain-neutral-when-politicians-have-a-religious-agenda/ In the following article, Alexander Carpenter and Daniel Weber discuss the issue of SDA involvement in political issues. That article also contains a link to a 46-minute discussion of this subject. https://spectrummagazine.org/views/analysis/should-adventists-go-public-with-their-politics-alexander-carpenter-daniel-weber-debate/ SATIRE: The following article is pure satire, and it is not factual. If you access it, you may want to read the eight comments on the article that has also been published. https://adventistreview.org/perspectives/columnists/politics-liberty-and-the-christian-vote/#comment-6562676246 The following article provides good advice as to where God is in this election. https://atoday.org/aunty-im-suffering-such-anxiety-about-the-american-election-what-can-i-do/ The following article suggests that all people, both heroes and villains are imperfect. https://spectrummagazine.org/views/columns/who-should-lead-dissecting-heroes-and-villains/ During this election season I have come to two fundamental conclusions: 1) In recent times, arguments have been made that End Time predictions of Ellen White are unrealistic and not likely to happen. What I see occurring in the political world today suggests to me that her predictions could very well happen. 2) We humans do have some control over future events. This is true, I believe, for End Time Events. However, regardless of what those events may be, God is in charge of the final outcome. His objectives will ultimately come to pass, regardless of the manner by which they occur.1 point
