Aliensanctuary Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Not much snow for us this year. Haven't had to use 4wd even once. We're still driving the Mustang, definitely a low-slung flat-land city-car. Last year I had to chain up all 4 wheels on the Jeep, and just barely made it up and back on a private road leading to our house in the foothills. Everyone else stayed home or couldn't get home until they hired a bull dozer to clear the 3-mile road. Quote The Parable of the Lamb and the Pigpen https://www.createspace.com/3401451

It was almost all melted before we got this last one. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Neil D Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Ok, NOW is the time where I say- Hey all...it's been a nice balmy 55-65 degrees today on the coast of Oregon. Sun shinning since 10 AM, and the countryside is gorgeous....The pine trees are very pleasently green, and the cherry trees are blossoming with thier pink flowers .... What's that I hear??? 6 more weeks of cold weather? Not here on the coast it ain't.....Do I hear groans and grumbles from those that are grumpy with cabin fevor? OOOOh, well.... Moderators LynnDel Posted February 18, 2010 Moderators Posted February 18, 2010 Are you sure those are cherry trees blooming, Neil? Mine haven't started, and I'm way down here where we've had a few 70s days this week. LD Quote LD
Neil D Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Pretty sure....pink flowers ....ornimental trees with pink flowers...ok, maybe not all are cherry trees.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Members phkrause Posted February 18, 2010 Members Posted February 18, 2010 Oh and probably at least another 2 months of winter for us. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators LynnDel Posted February 18, 2010 Moderators Posted February 18, 2010 Avoiding the topic of snow -- the earliest bloomin' trees here are almonds (many are pink), and plums (likewise pink), followed by cherries. But I am speaking of fruiting trees; maybe ornamentals are earlier. But bee guys tend to be experts on these things, so I will say no more. LD Quote LD
olger Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Wife says we got another 6" of snow in Ohio. Feel bad about that as I spend time in Orlando. As a kind gesture, I got her an axe for splittin wood before I left. A real heavy one so she don't have to hit the log so many times. I'm thoughtful like that. g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Administrators Gail Posted February 18, 2010 Administrators Posted February 18, 2010 Cherries have started here, too. But I feel for Amelia and Pam with their allergies to filberts. Woody Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 It's getting harder and harder to see out my window. And that's all snow. There WAS just bare flat gound there. :) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Gail Posted February 18, 2010 Administrators Posted February 18, 2010 How did you end up so lucky??? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted February 18, 2010 Members Posted February 18, 2010 looks like snow that has been plowed over to the window...I don't think you're snowed in, are you? Woody Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 That would be right Pam. That is the snow that has been plowed. There was no where else to put it. And yes dgrimm. The photo is on it's side. I am not techy enough to know how to 'right' it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Well ... I am very curious about how to 'right' it. There have been times when Amelia would come along and correct them for me. But, personally I've never learned how to do it. :( Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to reorient yourself to the left, Redwood....At least, if you "right" the picture, you would find your picture upside down, much like your politics. Become balanced, and re-orientate yourself a bit left, and your picture might just right itself... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
