Almost anything can happen as I have experienced at the five GC sessions I have attended, but only one as an official delegate. What I have learned is that not everything is fair and democratic, because Mammon has a great impact on our World Church.

Members of a nominating committee might be told that if they nominate X candidate certain wealthy members will grant so many million dollars for certain projects, but their grants will go somewhere else if Y candidate is nominated.

Many years ago a vice president rooming with the president pleaded with the president quite a bit of the night to stop this practice, and rather let the Lord guide the church and pray that tithes and free will  offerings would be a greater blessing if utilized in the right way. The president could see the problem but was not prepared to change the unofficial Mammon system which has been ruling our church - and many TV programs - for a long time.

When will we have a General Conference session that is not ruled by Mammon?

Mammon is a male dominated system which they fear will be lost if honest women gain more power in the church.

Mammam is a problem for both sexes.  The problem will not go away because a woman takes office.  In fact a new set of problems will be added.
