Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 1, 2014 Moderators Posted November 1, 2014 Colorado requires that Election Judges evenly represent the parties--remember Colorado is a Purple State. In compliance the Republican Party submitted a list of 95 names of potential Election Judges to the Boulder County Clerk. Of those 95 names, only five (5) agreed to serve. This required the Clerk to select Republicans from outside the list provided by the Republican Party. The Republican Party then filed a complaint alleging that that many of the selected Republican judges were actually Democrats who had changed their party to Republican at the last minute. Some additional alligations were also made. The Clerk investigated and fired one judge, who was not involved in the above, for false swearing and issued the above information. As a result, the Republican Party has dropped heir objection and is satisfied with what has happened. The State is investigating and expects to complete the investigation in late November, with no effect on the election. The investigation is expected to result in nothing more than some new rules that cover such situations. . Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 1, 2014 Author Moderators Posted November 1, 2014 For those who do not understand why I called Colorado a Purple State: States that are expected to vote for one political party are called a Red State. States expected to vote for the other political party are called a Blue State. When you mix red and blue, you get purple. As to which color represents which party: Think back to the War of Independence when the blue Americans fought against the English Redcoats. D. Allan 1 Quote Gregory
