This is an interesting site that I came across on Facebook. I wonder how Adventists in general relate to Jewish people? Because SDA's have a different end time view that most other Protestant churches and one where modern Israel does not feature in that view, I suggest that SDA's may not have the same relationship with the modern nation of Israel that other Christians may have.

I am guessing the purpose of this site is to enable both Jewish people and Adventists to have a forum to speak to one another and learn about what motivates us. The Seventh-day Adventist church is growing rapidly across Israel now over 30 congregations strong from less than 10 in the 1990's. I feel that SDA's have a lot to offer the people of Israel and may be in a better position to witness Christ as opposed to other groups that have less in common with Jewish people than we do?

I have no idea why, but every link I cut and paste onto this forum never works, please join it up and paste into your browser - https:// www.facebook.com/ WJAFC/timeline

When you look at your posted message please go back and edit it when you see the end question mark on a dark background.

Erase that mark at the end of the link. It never belongs to a link and is a type of trogan gremlin mucking up the works here.

Three cheers for Gregory's links. They all work well and seem to be very interesting for a browsal.

Thanks for the link, I used your copy and past, but like Yentyl mentioned, just get rid of the question mark and your good to go. They also have some great links on that FB thread.

When I go to edit the post the question mark is not there and it all looks like it should, when I repost it as edited, the question mark then appears again! On some occasions I can post links on here and other other occasions this is what happens, it may well be a bug in safari.

I also believe we have a lot of common ground to offer Jewish people. We believe in the Sabbath and that the dead are asleep, not to eat unclean foods, and that the Jewish Torah, what we know as the Old Testament, was divinely inspired. I have friends who pastor 2 congregations in Florida for Jews who are coming to accept Jesus, or Yeshua as they say in a closer pronunciation of the Hebrew. Our study of the Sanctuary throws additional light on it. For Jews who are open, we have much in common, and the Adventist congregations functioning chiefly as outreach to the Jews approach things in a way to make them more understandable to them in terms of their culture and understanding of the Torah. They include certain cultural traditions that are not salvational but do not deny the Lord Jesus such as prayer shawls, the order of worship, and sesign of the building in a way to make them more familiar.

Behold what manner of love the Father hath given unto us.

I think many SDA's would be surprised to see the growth of the SDA in Israel, God is really blessing the church there and using it to lead many Jewish people to Jesus. - Sometimes I reflect on the fact that the original Christians were called followers of the way and believed to be a sect of Judaism by the Romans initially. I feel that the Catholic church went to some lengths over history to make a greater seperation between Catholicism and Judaism and its my belief that the Protestant Reformation which led to groups like the Seventh Day Baptists rediscovering the Sabbath and so forth is helping bridge the gap to lead the Jewish people to Christ.

I agree that the rediscovery of the Sabbath may help reach the Jewish people and am glad to hear about church growth in Israel. Some leading speakers in our churches have Jewish roots, such as Doug Bachelor and Steve Wohlberg.

Behold what manner of love the Father hath given unto us.
