Sojourner Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 There is currently a massive bushfire in my state, several homes have been destroyed and there are larger areas that the fire fighters cannot yet get into to see what is left. - http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/cfs-reports-huge-bushfire-destroys-homes-in-adelaide-hills/story-fnl1ee8j-1227173793506 News coming in to hand is that the fires are heading towards the small town of Birdwood which has a Seventh-day Adventist church on the outskirts near the bush. Residents are being advised to evacuate. So its unclear what the future is and at what time they expect the fires to hit the town or if they will be able to prevent that from happening. If you can keep the Birdwood SDA church in your prayers that would be much appreciated. Their facebook page says they were to have met this morning, but no further news is through as yet. - https://www.facebook.com/BirdwoodSeventhDayAdventistChurch Quote
Members phkrause Posted January 3, 2015 Members Posted January 3, 2015 Sorry to hear that, will pray that the church as well as homes are spared. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Sojourner Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Greetings all, it was announced today that the CFS now have the fire under control. The good news is that they were able to save the township of Birdwood where the SDA church is located. Sadly 27 homes are reported to have been lost and a number more damaged, however no loss of life has happened. They were able to prevent the fire from reaching Birdwood so the church and other town buildings are all quite okay, thankyou for your prayers and support! LifeHiscost 1 Quote
