Administrators Gail Posted January 19, 2015 Administrators Posted January 19, 2015 Here is an interesting display of brains preserved from mental patients which were housed at the University of Texas Mental Hospital. Warning- for the curious but not for the queasy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/15/texas-mental-hospital-brains_n_6159436.html?utm_hp_ref=brain Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted January 19, 2015 Members Posted January 19, 2015 I find the photos extremely sad. Many patients in insane asylums who died in the 1800's through mid-1950's in the US ended up either in the asylum's barbaric laboratories or sent to medical schools. In fact, they were the primary source of cadavers for the med schools.. The people were sent there and most were never heard of again. No grave. No memorial. No nothing. Just...sad... Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

That was my thought exactly. What an opportunity for research that was! Yes, isn't that incredible? That is without mentioning the ones that were experimented on or sterilized.
