_______________might be alleviated were the recent past posts of any poster able to be accessed from the search box in the upper right corner of the web page according to the name of the poster. Often I would follow a thread after posting if I remembered it, however having forgotten I use the search box which only seems to function for me, at the most 15%-30% of the time. That of course could be because the other 70%-85% have been deleted by the administrators and are inaccessible I suppose, except I do run into some of what I posted previously just by chance of perusing threads.

Life:  I seem to find that I have some of the same issues to include forgetting what important posts I had made in what threads.

Posts should never be deleted but moved or hidden. I will delete spam (take note, those Russian spammers) such as ads that pop up from time to time. But it is useful to us to retain a good "paper trail". In spite of that I do see deletions happening.

Deleted posts rob everyone of the opportunity to take to task the poster if they really are incorrect or the responder just has another viewpoint. The poster should  have the chance to defend the writing as long as it is a topic that could be discussed. Obviously, not a lot to talk about in a "spam in Russian" post. But to borrow Rudy's words, some moderators get their "panties in a twist" over some posts! However, in the world's rapidly degrading standard of morality, some just don't want to hear about it.

From the viewpoint of most, a hidden or moved post appears to be deleted.  It is not.  Such posts are usually moved/hidden from general view because they are violating forum rules.

I would seriously doubt that the reason that you have a problem with a search is that "70-85%" have been deleted by administrators. A very, very small percentage of posts and topics get deleted.  And not many more get hidden or moved.  I suspect another issue cause your low success rate on searches.

I really don't lose sleep over the lack of pursuing what I thought worthy of posting. Although sometimes it might be a result of popping my ego bubble, for the most part I just accept this promise.
