B/W Photodude Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So, how do you decide who makes your prayer list? I see requests for prayer all the time from various internet forums, mail lists, requests in church, FaceBook, and even personal requests. Unfortunately, even keeping track of all of them, let alone, actually praying for them becomes a monumental task. So how do you do it? Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 28, 2015 Members Posted July 28, 2015 some people will write names and/or requests on a paper then pray over the paper, i.e., their "prayer list"... rather than pray individually for each person on the list. I've always thought that was sort of odd (not *wrong*, just odd). Prayer is very personal to me, and my intercessions with God for someone, by necessity, need to be on a personal level... "Global" prayers just don't cut it for me... Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Members phkrause Posted July 28, 2015 Members Posted July 28, 2015 I used to pray for each individual when the list was short, but as time went by the list has gotten very long! We now pray for the list as a whole, and any new ones that we add, we do them individually for a while, as we add new ones we replace the others. Administrators Naomi Posted July 28, 2015 Administrators Posted July 28, 2015 I pray immediately for the prayer request. And, also keep a prayer book with notes and dates. For the most part I pray over the book as there are too many. However, there are those for whom I pray for as individuals ... it's a heart decision Outta Here, hch and phkrause 3 Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
