Administrators Gail Posted September 6, 2015 Administrators Posted September 6, 2015 I have a problem with the idea of an unwanted pregnancy. The way I see it, a pregnancy is not the fault of the child neither should be regarded as a bad thing. It is the natural part of certain behaviour. What motivated this rant? I just viewed a comic on the subject of sexualizing young children. The end result of the story was an unplanned pregnancy which was portrayed as a problem. I wish that no pregnancy would be viewed as a problem and that every child could be truly welcomed into the world. *end of rant* phkrause, Stan, Sojourner and 2 others 5 Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Deaconess Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Solution: Bring back the God-fearing, faithful, serious, imposing, slightly scary, overtly concerned, and loving fathers who stay around and care for their sons and daughters as he shows love and devotion to the mother of his children. Boys just might fall in line with the wishes of this man to see that the proper respect is given to his precious daughter and see in him an example of how a lady should be treated. Girls might have less opportunity to aimlessly wander looking for a strong male figure to admire and have higher expectations because of how she has seen her father treat her mother. This may not be politically correct, but the value of strong families is of extreme importance. bonnie and Stan 2 Quote

Sojourner Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Solution, in Australia remove barriers to adoption that Christian families might be able to embrace these children and raise them as their own if they are simply considered to be 'unwanted'. I think that embracing an unwanted child and raising that child as your own is one of the most 'Chrstian' things a person can do and is something I feel that G-d does require of us. I can tell you that I would have no problem in embracing another child into my family if I was able to in an circumstance like that. Aliensanctuary Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I have a daughter unable to conceive, and it has caused her much pain to drive by Planned Parenthood facilities knowing that in there is where unwanted babies are killed. A couple of days ago a meth-head delivered the cutest little baby boy at our hospital. She refused to take him home, so he had to go to a foster home. It was her fifth child. My daughter and husband are adopting an as-yet unborn baby girl from a young woman who realizes she cannot raise a child on her own. The baby is due to be born on Dec 24. This should really brighten up their lives and create new responsibilities. I think that anyone who has an abortion should be subject to compulsory sterilization. Outta Here Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Regarding the sterilization of women who've had an abortion... Consider forgiveness. It's up to God to breathe life into us; to maintain our beating hearts; to give us water and sunlight. There are a lot of beautiful, God-loved babies born to mothers and fathers post-abortion. A lot of these parents suffer a crisis of faith and turn their eyes upon Jesus. Some go on to raise God-loving children who grow to be your Christian brothers and sisters. Gail and Stan 2 Quote

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 7, 2015 Moderators Posted November 7, 2015 Did you know that clinical abortions are often done when the baby had died a natural death in the womb? It is either that or the mother facing the thought of delivering the dead fetus at a time and place that could not be predicted. Some women simply do not wish to face that prospect. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted November 7, 2015 Administrators Posted November 7, 2015 Perhaps within the realm of the reality that life is infinitely nuanced and complex with way more than 50 shades of gray - so much so that simplistic answers and zero sum games with rules just don't fit or work very well in real life. Even when we approach the semantic meaning of the OP question... what are we talking about? Human desire isn't a one-level thing. It's an agglomerate of various constraints and factors. Just because I don't want to go to work doesn't mean that I won't, or don't understand that I should. In that sense... I want to go to work, even though I don't. One may look at it as a paradox, until we understand that our "wants" is an agglomerate of factors that tend to take us into a direction of eventual action. I think that in that context, "Unwanted pregnancy" makes sense. Women can be raped, or she may not be ready to mother a child in context of her current ability. All of the external talk about "she shouldn't do this or that" is irrelevant in terms of the environment that one exists in. In some northern villages, people existing in isolation would send out young women elsewhere to get pregnant in order to prevent inbreeding and the entire tribe dying from debilitating diseases. So, the women would go out, sleep with strangers and come back pregnant and re-entegrated into their tribe. What is more wrong in such context? It's not that simple. The same with younger generation today. The previous generation: 1) Allowed for commercial sexualization of virtually everything imaginable 2) Delayed adulthood which results to lack of access to natural fulfillment of sex, and drives younger generation to products that circle right back into "sex sex sex" which is prohibited.... 3) And then the church tells them that sex is dirty and in their state and environment they are trapped in a constant cycle of guilt between their natural expression of sex, and guilt that church re-enforces and capitalizes on... 4) And after all is said and done, young people are to blame for getting caught in an endless cycle of confusion with both sides playing them like a pipe I'd say that for anyone who demands pre-marital abstinence also should demand societal structure that wouldn't make such ideal to be incredibly difficult for younger generation.
