According to the article, it was a 111 km walk/ride, about 68 miles, probably a 4-5 day journey. I agree with aka, need a little more white space between paragraphs in the editorial to make it more readable. Some readers tend to skip over large blocks of print because it takes more concentration to keep on the right line. Short paragraphs and space between paragraphs is a good rule for readability.
