BobRyan Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 This was in my sermon yesterday about avoiding Satan’s enchanted ground and the need to awake to our present situation. ======================================================= Gen 1 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them Gen 6:11 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere. …. {1SP 69.1} Ezek 3 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. (Ezekiel 3) =================== from http://www.geneticsandsociety.org/article.php?id=9611 NIH Plans To Lift Ban On Research Funds For Part-Human, Part-Animal Embryo by Rob Stein, NPRAugust 4th, 2016 The federal government announced plans Thursday to lift a moratorium on funding of certain controversial experiments that use human stem cells to create animal embryos that are partly human. The National Institutes of Health is proposing a new policy to permit scientists to get federal money to make embryos, known as chimeras, under certain carefully monitored conditions. The NIH imposed a moratorium on funding these experiments in September because they could raise ethical concerns. One issue is that scientists might inadvertently create animals that have partly human brains, endowing them with some semblance of human consciousness or human thinking abilities. Another is that they could develop into animals with human sperm and eggs and breed, producing human embryos or fetuses inside animals or hybrid creatures. But scientists have argued that they could take steps to prevent those outcomes and that the embryos provide invaluable tools for medical research. For example, scientists hope to use the embryos to create animal models of human diseases, which could lead to new ways to prevent and treat illnesses. Researchers also hope to produce sheep, pigs and cows with human hearts, kidneys, livers, pancreases and possibly other organs that could be used for transplants. To address the ethical concerns, the NIH's new policy imposes several restrictions. But the policy would lift the moratorium on funding experiments involving other species. Because of the ethical concerns, though, at least some of the experiments would go through an extra layer of review by a new, special committee of government officials. That committee would, for example, consider experiments designed to create animals with human brain cells or human brain tissue. Scientists might want to create them to study neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. But the experiments would undergo intensive scrutiny if there's any chance there might be a "substantial contribution" or "substantial functional modification" to an animal's brain. --- In addition, the NIH would even consider experiments that could create animals with human sperm and human eggs since they may be useful for studying human development and infertility. But in that case steps would have to be taken to prevent the animals from breeding. "I am confident that these proposed changes will enable the NIH research community to move this promising area of science forward in a responsible manner," Carrie Wolinetz, the NIH's associate director for science policy, wrote in a blog post. "At the end of the day, we want to make sure this research progresses because its very important to our understanding of disease. It's important to our mission to improve human health," she said in an interview with NPR. "But we also want to make sure there's an extra set of eyes on these projects because they do have this ethical set of concerns associated with them." Several scientists said they are thrilled by the new policy. "It's very, very welcome news that NIH will consider funding this type of research," says Pablo Ross, a developmental biologist at the University of California, Davis, trying to grow human organs in farm animals. "We need funding to be able to answer some very important questions." But critics denounced the decision. "Science fiction writers might have imagined worlds like this — like The Island of Dr. Moreau, Brave New World, Frankenstein," says Stuart Newman, a biologist at New York Medical College. "There have been speculations. But now they're becoming more real. And I think that we just can't say that since it's possible then let's do it." The public has 30 days to comment on the proposed new policy. NIH could start funding projects as early as the start of 2017. BobRyan Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 There are two sections to the comment form. I chose something like this for those two sections. Section 1. The air that we breathe is common to mankind. So also the DNA domain for animals and humans - is pristine without man experimenting with it to the point of corrupting basic design "flesh" of man and animals. God condemned the planet for this in Genesis 6. And there are many of us who would not like to see the planet once-again-doomed because of the same short-sighted "experiments" as was done before the flood. One writer in the 1800's noted " "But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere. …. {1SP 69.1} " This entire line of "experiment" should be a crime against humanity - and certainly made illegal in the United States -- Some will argue that they are atheist and that this does not concern them. In Leviticus 18 we see that totally non-Bible aware groups of peoples/nations are wiped out for crossing certain crude/basic/elementary lines of morality. What is more - destroying the world whether by flood or fire - would be tragic to all mankind - including atheists. This is not an issue that we want to mess with at all. For the good of all of mankind - please do not do this thing until you can prove beyond all doubt that there is no God - and that the Bible is a lie. So far - there are still quite a few of us - that would beg to differ with such conclusions and will vote for people to take office that will show a more sane approach to preserving the genomes of this biosphere from such polluting experimentation. Section 2. The same level of common sense that knows not to do this with primates - should have applied to all human-animal chimera experiments. We strongly oppose both chimera and hybrid experiments between humans and animals. What is worse - the generation of human gamete cells in animals opens a "back door" for creating human embryos and using them as "a resource" -- that might not be covered by legislation that is slow to catch up to this new level of crime against humanity. I am sure that Nazi experimentation on humans "looked like a good idea at the time" to the Nazi regime -- we need not follow that path to certain doom of our nation just as in the case of the Nazi regime. BobRyan Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 i have asked that - if they must -- please pick some other form of abomination to toy with -- not this one. Martn 1 Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.
Aliensanctuary Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Now, what if wolves and humans were amalgamated, then the half-wolf/half-humans began to bite the humans and infect them with their DNA, thereby turning their victims into half-wolf/half-humans? BobRyan Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Have i got good news for you -- A great many on this board have had viral infections resulting in the cold and/or the flu. but as it turns out they do not have "virus DNA" in their healthy cells or in the DNA that they pass on to their children. Nor do they have entire organs that are strictly the DNA of the virus etc. So then no chimera and no hybrid resulting from getting a cold or the flu. Nice that it works that way. phkrause 1 Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.

If you go the the following source, Biblehub and then look at of the many resources available there, commentaries, definitions, Bible versions, etc, I don't think you can find any such explanation. I know you firmly believe this...but....... Quote

How hard is it to conclude that Nephilim were the hybrid offspring (amalgamation?) of angels (albeit fallen angels) and women? I've seen the explanations that spiritualize this away; I prefer to take the Word literally. Whoever the Nephilim were, they were obviously scary creatures - "We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). CoAspen Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I know that you believe in finding word meanings of ancient words and texts. The word Nephilim from all the sources I can find most probably denotes 'giants' or a very 'strong people' and perhaps even 'very violent. I could not find thing to suggest that they meant 'angels and humans'. They are also mentioned in Numbers. How do you decide when to take something 'literally'? Is this a common understanding through out the Bible or just this one place that we need to try and understand better because it does not coincide with the rest of the Bible? I reckon this discussion shouldn't be in Town Hall!! Cheers Quote

Rabbah 26:7), and in the Hebrew language it means giants (Pirkei d’Rabbi Eliezer, ch. 22 and Targum Jonathan). And I believe Jesus tells us somewhere in the NT when asked about marriage in heaven: We will be like the angels! There's no where that in the Bible or in Jewish writings, etc. that say that the Nephilim are anything but giants!! And nowhere does the Bible say that angels are having sex with humans!! Martn Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 The mating of "angels" (advanced humans from other worlds rather than mere angels) and earth women is a memory found recorded in the ancient traditions of every nationality on earth. It is in the Bible too, but people will choose to interpret it otherwise of course, as they do with everything in the Bible, according to their tastes rather than according to what is honest. As for combinations between men and animals (centaurs, mermaids, etc.), this too is recalled in the ancient traditions of many peoples around the world. That of course wasn't through mating, not ordinarily anyway, but by means of advanced technologies like our own --we are not the first to have advanced civilization. Is this in the Bible? I think so, but again whatever I show will be interpreted a thousand different ways according to a thousand different tastes, as with everything in the Bible. In either case, mixing contrary species destroys the works and temples of God, and God will not tolerate it. If our civilization is beginning to do this, we won't have long to wait until God puts a stop to it just like before. JoeMo Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Some scientists claim that it won't be long until they are able to construct a "perfect" human genome in a petri dish. If they ever reach that point, they will be claiming the power of God; and the end will come. LifeHiscost 1 Quote

JoeMo Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks, Greg. An interesting and balanced article. Quote
Martn Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I find the article misleading, (typically) complicated in order to explain away what is not complicated in the straightforward words of Genesis and Jude. Nephilim comes from the word which means not merely to fall, but to stoop down, as those of great height must do, and from this comes the understanding that they were giants. We find this detail, too, in the ancient memories of many different peoples around the world, that beings of extraordinary height mated with little earth women (and sometimes with little earth men), having children who then also were of remarkable height. Quote 2 Samuel 24:1-- The LORD moved David to number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1-- SATAN moved David to number Israel.
Martn Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 However, I do agree with the article, that spirits or mere angels cannot materialize such that they would be able to mate with flesh-and-blood earthlings. The "angels" in question, therefore, were not spirit beings. They had to be material beings, like ourselves. And, in order to mate with us, they had to be of related species --sons of God like ourselves. The sons of God, of which Adam (a human being) was one, are human beings (beings made in the image and likeness of God --sons of God therefore) of many different varieties or races, from many different worlds. By mingling with the rebellious children of earth, they contaminated their own people with the seeds of rebellion. For which cause were they cast down to the earth, confined now to this part of space along with the rest of us. Quote 2 Samuel 24:1-- The LORD moved David to number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1-- SATAN moved David to number Israel.
Martn Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 If the word nephilim came from Hebrew naphal ("to fall"), it would be spelled nephulim, not nephilim as we find it in Genesis. Nephilim cannot mean "fallen ones" therefore. Likewise, nephilim does not mean those who fall or those who fall away (that would be spelled nophelim). The only way in Hebrew to get nephilim from naphal by the rules of Hebrew would be to presume a noun spelled naphil and then pluralize it. This supposed noun does not exist in biblical Hebrew. In Aramaic, however, the noun naphil does exist, and it means "giant," which is why the ancient Septuagint translated nephilim as gigantes ("giant"). --Morris Jastrow's Dictionary of the Targumim, the Talmud Babli and Yerushalmi, and the Midrashic Literature (1903).
