Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 22, 2021 Moderators Posted June 22, 2021 Avondale Academic Press has published the following book which is of value to informed members of the SDA denomination: Lynden J Rogers, Editor. The Biblical Flood: Context and History of Adventist Understanding, 2nd Edition. 2020, 238 pages. NOTE: this 2nd Edition is an important improvement over the 1st edition. This book is written by four different academic scholars. It is a book that focuses on the historical background of our SDA teaching on the Flood of Noah. In my own personal bias I was less interested in the first chapter which discussed theological perspectives held by Biblical scholars over the past 200 years related to the book of Genesis. I found the 4th chapter to be of much value which discussed the early SDA understanding of the flood. In total it consists of six chapters. I am still digesting the perspective of the final chapter which posits that science is currently moving to a position the opposite of uniformitarianism. I consider this position to be significant. NOTE: The book may be purchased from Amazon. JoeMo Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 The article never even hints at the main reason for the flood - which was the destruction of the hybrid beings birthed by women who had sex with fallen angels who abandoned heaven and took on flesh (see Jude 6). This understanding is crucial for understanding why God had Moses and Joshua kill all (men, women, children, infants, animals, etc.) of certain ethnic groups. Quote

I found this while studying today . This may shed light on why the Amalekites were destroyed: Deut 25:17-19 17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. 19 Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it. And the Amalekites indeed are not remembered. There is no archeological evidence that they ever existed. That is how completely they were destroyed by God and the Hebrews. Quote
