GHansen Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 It was known as the pre-Advent judgment, a rather neutral description. Anyone who has ever worked in civil service and heard the words "You are under investigation" would understand the implications of being investigated. Civil servants can have certain protections when being investigated. Contract workers may not. Quote

Maybe the word "Reviewing to deepen our knowledge" may be a better description. The celestial beings review our lives to see if we really did accept the Lord into our lives and if so what difference did he make to us. This helps them see clearer how God saves us and from this a clearer picture in how God saves them. On earth we entered the age of exegesis where rediscovery of the ancient words and languages cause it so that we get to investigate the texts of scripture like never before. This deeper understanding of the Bible can give us a clearer picture of God's love for us!!! The events both celestial and earthly shows creation God in even a deeper light, and God's love for all of us in a deeper light! We can say "investigative judgement" "Investigative aspect of the atonement" but either way, God reviews what he did for you and me with the celestial beings; and he reviews with you and me what he did over the history of sacred scripture. phkrause 1 Quote

[no object] make a check to find out something: when you didn't turn up I thought I'd better come back to investigate. I have no problems with the word "investigative". The last definition covers the investigation of a person's character and I believe that is much of what is going on in heaven as we speak. As some have queried, "Are you safe to save?" Seems sometimes we skirmish too much over words. Semantical battles really don't help much. Consider the "Last Generation" kerfluffle". I really don't see much difference in Last Generation theology and the theology of the 144,000 of Revelation. Really is, one and the same.
