Clicked on the link and glad to see my expectations of what I would find was not wrong.  It appears any left leaning party/persons/groups are exempt from hate and that lies solely with  white conservatives.

? Hate crimes surge in big cities

Data: Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism. Chart: Axios Visuals

Most of the nation's 10 largest cities had significant jumps in hate crimes last year, Axios' Russell Contreras writes from a new report.

  • Why it matters: It was the second straight year of increases in big cities' overall average number of hate crimes — typically defined as violence stemming from victims' race, color, sexuality, religion or national origin.

The unpublished report by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino, reflects a 22-year trend of increasing hate crimes nationwide — amid a rise in white nationalism and soaring numbers of attacks on Asian Americans during the pandemic.

  • L.A., the nation's second-largest city, had the most reported hate crimes — a record 609, with 195 of those classified as anti-Black, 98 as anti-gay (male), 91 as anti-Jewish and 88 anti-Latino.
  • Chicago, the third-largest city, had the biggest increase — 84.6%, followed by Austin, Texas, at 58.6%.

Some big cities got good news: Phoenix, San Diego and San Antonio had significant declines in hate crimes last year.

Neo-Nazis Gloat as Florida Becomes a Magnet for Hate

Neo-Nazis have been ecstatic in the wake of their headline-grabbing action outside Orlando earlier this month. White nationalists with handles like “Dietrich,” “Red Pill,” and “Scotty Big Balls” greeted each other with shouts of “Hail victory!” on a Sept. 10 Telegram livestream. Echoing the sentiments of many participants, “Combat Carl” told listeners it was “probably the best weekend of my life.”

Hate-crime fears rising

Three decades of data reviewed by Axios show that conflicts involving Israel frequently lead to big jumps in hate crimes in the U.S. — particularly antisemitic attacks, Axios' Russell Contreras writes.

What's happening: Police in Fresno, Calif., said Tuesday they've launched a hate crime investigation after windows were broken at a Jewish temple and a bakery, KSEE-TV reports.

  • Several synagogues in Utah received bomb threats Sunday and were forced to evacuate. Police searched the facilities and found no explosives.
  • Authorities in New York state, Texas and Seattle have increased security at Jewish sites, temples and schools this week.
  • In L.A., police are stepping up patrols of Muslim and Jewish sites.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights organization, says it's tracking hundreds of social media posts that have promoted racist and violent rhetoric in recent days.

  • CAIR's Maryland office said it's getting reports of Muslim and Arab students being harassed and intimidated in public high schools and on college campuses.
