Are we sure about this? It does not seem right that someone charged with a crime should be restricted at church. Convictions, okay. But I thought we were innocent until proven guilty. phkrause 1 Quote

The man is dead. He cannot defend himself. I don't see he was never convicted of a crime. Nothing but allegations. The media is some of the most ungodly people trying to smear God's people. phkrause 1 Quote
Hanseng Posted July 4 Posted July 4 1 hour ago, Asia Joe said: This looks like a witch hunt to me. Joe, I agree with you about the media. Lot of really evil people involved in it, including the SDA media. Private SDA webzines are at the forefront of pushing the gay agenda on the denomination. They are backed by boards. Those boards are often include wealthy, influential people in the denomination. Some years ago, an SDA university president was caught in a police sting targeting men soliciting sex in public restrooms. I was approached by homosexuals on two different SDA college campuses back in the 70s. One was obvious, the other not so much. I ran him off before his scheme was revealed but I know the type. It's just more in the open now. SDA media would have us believe that changing the marital state from hetero to homo is OK, while they oppose Sunday observance. If the Sabbath shouldn't be changed, why should the marital state? Kinship is now promoting an upcoming Kamp meeting. They posit that homosexual denominational employees could lose their jobs if confidentially is not respected, suggesting that ~tithe dollars are paying closeted homosexuals working for the denomination. I attended church, ate potluck with an SDA M.D. convicted of sexual crimes against a young person. His wife divorced him, he lost his physician's license, and had a hard time finding employment as a registered sex offender. He was actually quite a nice guy. He spent time in jail. I was unaware of any restrictions under which he attended church. Perhaps he was clandestinely monitored. You are right about the need for careful investigation of charges like this. I was acquainted with one of the RC priests in Los Angeles who was convicted of pedophilia related crimes. Would have never guessed his tastes ran along those lines. When the news reported his case, they said that there was just one victim. Just one? Not really. The statute of limitations had run out on others. According to Ron Lawson's research, some of the most preeminent families in Adventism have homosexual members, not necessarily pedophiles but homosexual. In some Asian countries, a mere accusation can upend your life. Even somewhat official accusations can be based on gossip rather than facts. Careful. You don't need a drunken guy with a machete hunting you down, based on a lie. Quote
Hanseng Posted Wednesday at 05:41 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:41 AM Years ago [1990s], I started working in the West Hollywood gay community as an infusion R.N. At that time, there were a few gay organizations working to draw attention the AIDS problem as well as serve those afflicted. There was AIDS Project Los Angeles [APLA], AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power [ACTUP] Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation [GLAAD], and others. These groups included militant, activists as well as more professional public relations types. Some of the methods they devised in those days to draw attention to homosexuals in the world are now being brought into Adventism to normalize homosexuality in the denomination. Kinship is especially active in this endeavor. They are no longer simply a support group. Their agenda has become more militant, openly advocating/promoting homosexuality. In addition to lobbying for SDA youth to be introduced to the gay agenda, a more recent post on Spectrum issued an open challenge to the church and heterosexual community to "do something" about the gay agenda in Adventism: "The Seventh-day Adventist church is what it is only because of the queer, LGBTQIA+ members that helped shape it. We are here. We are queer. We will always be here. The church can try to ignore us, but we comprise more than 10% of the membership. Heterosexual members continue to pump out queer babies… gay, trans, and non-binary. Thank-you. Erton Köhlner should ask to speak with SDA Kinship 2 so he can better understand what he is refusing to deal with. We are not invisible and we will not be silent to make Erton and others more comfortable. We are loud, we are proud and we know that we are on the right side of history. God is walking with us each step of the way. For more info on the Adventist queer community who is not apologizing for being genuine, contact me at: info@sdakinship.org" The SDA church was not shaped by queer members. Church members are not "pumping out" queer, trans, and non-binary babies. In church, we shouldn't be comfortable with men/women who perform unspeakable acts upon one another as long as they remain unrepentant. Charming or not, homosexuality is "unclean." "We are here, We are queer, We will always be here" is a modification of an activist slogan which stated "We are here. We are queer. We are coming for your children." What is going on now in the denomination is right from the gay playbook on normalizing homosexuality in the world. The SDA church has now become a target. The militant homosexual types, campaigning for the normalization of the gay/lesbian agenda should be banned from the congregations. They shouldn't "always be here" if "here" refers to the church. If the church at the individual, local church, and administrative level doesn't take action against these people, they won't stop until their goals are achieved. One of those goals is involving SDA youth in alternative sexual expression. Gustave 1 Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted Saturday at 01:21 PM Author Moderators Posted Saturday at 01:21 PM In a post dated July 4, Asia Joe objected to the idea that people not convicted by a criminal court could be restricted as to attending SDA services. A valid question. We have a legal and ethical obligation to protect innocent children that does not depend on a prior criminal conviction. We should not require a criminal assault on a child prior to taking steps to protect the child. Criminal convictions require a a very high level of proof. Protection of people, children and adults, requires common sense, not a criminal conviction. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Hanseng Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Kinship's current president, on the Spectrum blog, recently boasted about having sex with another man. Kinship is no longer simply a "safe place" for GLBTQ people. It has become a marketing platform for homosexuality: Sex is great… but attractions are ultimately about love and then whatever results from that love. Floyd Poenitz comment on Spectrum article “An Adventist physician examines same-sex attraction.” April 29, 2026. When Floyd refers to "whatever happens from there" it reminded me of a guy who hit on me in the laundry room at Andrews University. He invited me to his home to listen to music, hug, and "see where it goes from there." There was an implied threat of violence in my response. Now some people will lament the unChristian attitude of an implied threat of violence. They are ok with a guy looking to get sodomized and perform oral sex on another [young] man? Violence is generally eschewed by Christians but so is homosexuality. I'm not advocating violence against the gay community. The less sanctified, however, might experience that as a gut level response. Hiking around the high desert, I immediately killed rattlesnakes when I saw them, It was a gut level reaction, like swatting at a mosquito buzzing in my ear or killing cockroaches. Real brotherly love leads to prayer, praise, and God's word, not homoeroticism. On another occasion, I was fooling around in W. Hollywood one evening. I happened into a shop which sold products for gay sex. These included special lubricants and might have included devices to mitigate the physical damage caused by homosexual activity. I said to the proprietor that I understood brotherly love but thought the gay community was taking it too far. He responded "~This isn't about love, its pure lust." Quote
