Pretty sad I'd say! The country has turned itself upside down from what it was only 10+ years ago!!

Congratulations, you must be pleased. Hopefully that will translate to much higher numbers of  immigrants and illegal aliens taking the pressure off the US trying to cope with the millions that crossed illegally. I have never been able to understand when I see numbers like that why we have so many that choose the US to immigrate to. legal or otherwise.yet I never hear about the mass exodus to leave to places like canada. we have to drag them kicking and screaming back across the border, why is that

Some of the criteria used to determine Canadians are "better" than americans deals  with  morals and ethics Which illegal immigration and how it is dealt with play a part both ethically and morally. Their views on different topics are taken into account as they determine this. It may be that Canadians are better morally and ethically but americans get a lower score for not accepting abortion as a good thing. I don't know currently how they deal with illegals and health care ,not that long ago they were denied health care. Americans do not deny those that need medical care' . Many issues go into the "score" to determine who ranks the best. Some issues as abortion place Canadians a little higher on the morality scale if they  approve of abortions etc.

Two numbers I have never really checked. Does Canada have a illegal immigration problem? Are millions and millions in Canada illegally. Never thought in terms of considering americans as superior humans.    Do you deal with the massive fraud that has come to light by immigrants in MN?. Maybe you don't have that, that is certainly a ethical and moral issue.

This might be a more balanced way of looking  at this instead of  trying to determine which county is superior. On the other hand it very well maybe Canada. I don't know.

Ran across the following which probably is more accurate

Here’s the clearest, fairest way to look at this

Are Canadians “more moral” or “more ethical” than Americans?

🌍 Short answer:

No country has a monopoly on morality or ethics. People in both Canada and the United States show kindness, selfishness, generosity, and bad behavior — because they’re human, not because of their nationality.

But there are cultural differences that sometimes make it feel like one group behaves differently than the other. Those differences come from systems, history, and social norms, not from people being inherently better or worse.

🧭 What actually shapes the perception?

🧩 1. Social norms

Canada tends to emphasize:

  • politeness

  • consensus

  • avoiding conflict

  • trust in institutions

The U.S. tends to emphasize:

  • individual freedom

  • personal responsibility

  • speaking up

  • skepticism of government

Neither is “more moral.” They’re just different cultural priorities.

🧩 2. Systems and policies

Sometimes people judge morality by:

  • healthcare access

  • immigration policies

  • crime rates

  • social safety nets

But these are government choices, not reflections of the moral character of millions of citizens.

🧩 3. Media narratives

Americans hear more about American problems. Canadians hear more about Canadian problems. It creates the illusion that “the other country has it figured out.”

❤️ The human truth

Every country has:

  • compassionate people

  • selfish people

  • honest people

  • dishonest people

  • people who help strangers

  • people who take advantage

Morality isn’t national. It’s personal.

When I came to the Philippines more than 20 years ago, people would ask me how to immigrate to the USA. I would tell them, go to Canada, the people are nicer.  That is still true today.  But I no longer tell them that because the political and economic environment is such a problem there.  I also tell them not to go to the USA for the same reason, but no one believes me.

I find that chart refreshing. Americans are recognizing that there are serious problems with their citizens.

A survey means little if you  are not dealing with a level playing field. Canada has a different definition of morality dealing with abortion ,same  sex marriage babies outside of marriage etc. There is no way with the known difference  to conduct a accurate survey. When people do surveys like this to determine who  has the better citizens I personally think it is rather silly. As I am not personally responsible and can only control my own behavior I am not sure what tthey get out of something like this survey except temporarily feeling superior

As for this .......
find that chart refreshing. Americans are recognizing that there are serious problems with their citizens.

For those of other countries that feel they have the high road in this, stay home or go to a like minded destination, Please take your illegal entry to a  like  minded place like Canada or another more welcoming country. Where there is abortion on demand for any reason, where same sex marriage is celebrated  etc . Americans are unlikely to change and we would spare you the angst of less moral people surrounding you
